FREE-FLOWING POWDER COMPRISING A POROUS SUBSTRATE FUNCTIONALIZED WITH AT LEAST ONE ACCELERATOR
20230174435 · 2023-06-08 · ·

A free-flowing powder composition includes at least one substrate having pores and an external surface between said pores, said surface functionalized with at least one accelerator for a hydraulic setting composition, said accelerator being liquid, hygroscopic, or deliquescent, and wherein after 15 minutes of immersion of free-flowing powder composition in water at 20° C. at least 80% in weight of said accelerator is solubilized, said free-flowing powder composition being immersed in an amount of water sufficient so that the saturation concentration of said accelerator cannot be reached. There is also a method for preparing said free-flowing powder composition. The use of said free-flowing powder composition as an additive for mortar or concrete composition provides an accelerating effect, an anti-ageing effect and an anti-dusting effect. A dry mortar or concrete composition includes a hydraulic binder, said free-flowing powder composition and a granulate, wet mortar or concrete composition and hardened body obtained therefrom.

Drying process

The present invention refers to a process for making a calcium carbonate containing material, wherein the process includes a specific drying procedure and allows for the provision of calcium carbonate materials with reduced moisture pick-up and low porosity.

WEATHER-RESISTANT, FUNGAL-RESISTANT, AND STAIN-RESISTANT COATINGS AND METHODS OF APPLYING ON WOOD, MASONRY, OR OTHER POROUS MATERIALS

A process for manufacturing the composition coating may include selecting a wood or masonry material substrate and utilizing a sol-gel comprising a silane or silane derivative and metal oxide precursor to coat the substrate. The process may utilize an all solution process or controlled environment for manufacturing a composition coating that prevent wetting and/or staining of a substrate. The composition coatings for treating wood or masonry materials improves weather-resistance, microbial resistance, stain-resistance and fungal-resistance of the materials. The reduced permeability of the resulting masonry materials can also delay or inhibit degradation caused by permeation of ions such as chlorides and sulfates. In addition, a stain comprising the composite solution and pigments may impart additional property to wood or masonry materials whilst retaining or improving the original appearance, particularly for the visibility and contrast of the wood grain as seen after the application of the coating.

BUILDING ASSEMBLY CONTAINING A WATER BARRIER COATING FILM AND METHOD OF MAKING THE BUILDING ASSEMBLY

A building assembly can include a substrate and a water barrier coating film. The water barrier coating film can include a thermoplastic polymer and microporous particles, such as microporous glass beads. The water barrier coating film can provide a good protection towards liquid water but may allow water vapor flow from the substrate through the coating film. The water vapor permeability of the water barrier coating film can be at least 2 US perms as tested according to ASTM E96 (2014) at 21° C. and 50% average relative humidity.

Fire-resistant sulfur concrete

A sulfur concrete has constituents that include a coarse aggregate in an amount in a range of 40-50 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete, a fine aggregate in an amount in a range of 20-40 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete, a fine filler in an amount in a range of 8-12 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete, and a binder in an amount in a range of 12-20 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete.
