Method for improving cement toughness
This document relates to methods for providing long-term zonal isolation in oil wells using cement compositions that contain triazine-based polymeric additives. The cement compositions containing the polymeric additives exhibit increased tensile strength, elastic strength, or both, without suffering a decrease in compressive strength, as compared to the same cement without the polymeric additive.

PERMEABLE PAVEMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING A PERMEABLE PAVEMENT COMPOSITION AND A RELATED METHOD
A permeable pavement system including a permeable pavement composition and a related method are provided. The permeable pavement system includes a first layer of a permeable pavement composition including a quantity of a first permeable pavement material and a quantity of cured carbon fiber composite material (CCFCM) incorporated therewith, the first layer defining a first surface; and a second layer of a second permeable pavement material deposited over a substantial entirety of and covering the first surface of the first layer of the permeable pavement composition, wherein the first layer interfaces with the second layer to at least strengthen the permeable pavement system.
Cement Additives
A cement composition and set cement including cement and a sliding-ring polymer. A system and method of applying the cement composition.
GREEN CERAMIC MIXTURES COMPRISING A STABILIZED EMULSION AND METHODS FOR FORMING A CERAMIC BODY
Green ceramic mixtures include at least one inorganic component, at least one organic binder, and a stable emulsion including at least one lubricant, at least one aqueous solvent, and at least one emulsifier. Methods for forming ceramic bodies include forming a green ceramic mixture including a stable emulsion and extruding the green ceramic mixture. The methods and green ceramic mixtures can be used to produce green and fired ceramic bodies.
Controlled Hydration of Quicklime
The present invention provides a liquid composition of quicklime particles within an alkylene glycol-based paste or slurry environment, which allows for pumpability and meterability of a liquid composition into cementitious materials such as concrete and mortar. Treated quicklime particles of the present invention manifest an unexpected and surprising hydration induction postponement behavior, as demonstrated through calorimetric testing.
Honeycomb structure
A first circumferential wall disposed in a circumference of partition walls has no interface with the outermost circumference partition wall in a circumferential portion constituted by the partition walls whose wall thickness is larger than that of a central portion constituted by the partition walls in a central region. A maximum thickness of a total of the first circumferential wall and a second circumferential wall disposed to surround an outer side of the first circumferential wall is 1.2-3.0 mm, a difference between the maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of the total is 0.2-1.5 mm, and there is satisfied a relation, 0.5(TBTA)SB/SA100(%)9.0 in which TB and TA indicate average thicknesses (m) of the partition walls in the circumferential and central portion respectively, and SB and SA indicate areas (cm.sup.2) of the circumferential portion and the honeycomb structure in the cross section respectively.
Polymer fibers for concrete reinforcement
Provided are cementitious mixtures and processes for reinforcing a cementitious matrix. In one form of the process for reinforcing a cementitious matrix includes the steps of mixing a mineral cement and one or more populations of synthetic copolymer microfibers including about 1 mol. % to about 25 mol. % and from about 75 mol. % to about 99.5 mol. % of propylene monomeric units.
Cement slurries, cured cement and methods of making and use of these
Cement slurries, cured cements, and methods of making cured cement and methods of using cement slurries are provided. The cement slurries have, among other attributes, improved elasticity and self-healing properties and may be used, for instance, in the oil and gas drilling industry. The cement slurry comprises water, a cement precursor material, and a block copolymer composition. The block copolymer composition has at least one copolymer backbone, with each copolymer backbone comprising at least two hard segments. Furthermore, a soft segment is disposed between the at least two hard segments. The copolymer backbone has at least one anhydride group grafted onto the soft segment, and the anhydride group is crosslinked by an aminosilane crosslinker.
HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
A honeycomb structure includes a tubular circumferential wall and partition walls forming a honeycomb-shaped cross-section and defining a plurality of cells extending inside the circumferential wall in an axial direction of the circumferential wall. The partition walls are constructed by a frame portion, formed by a plurality of ceramic particles arranged in a shape corresponding to the partition walls, and a filling portion, formed by metal silicon filling a gap between ceramic particles in the frame portion. The frame portion is maintained in a shape corresponding to the partition walls by the filling portion.
