Substrate and Method for Producing the Substrate
In an embodiment a method for producing a substrate includes forming a green sheet stack including first green sheets and second green sheets, wherein each of the first green sheets and the second green sheets contains a ceramic material as a main component, and wherein the second green sheets further contain a sintering aid in addition to the ceramic material.
Semiconductor substrate support with multiple electrodes and method for making same
A method for manufacturing an electrostatic chuck with multiple chucking electrodes made of ceramic pieces using metallic aluminum as the joining. The aluminum may be placed between two pieces and the assembly may be heated in the range of 770 C to 1200 C. The joining atmosphere may be non-oxygenated. After joining the exclusions in the electrode pattern may be machined by also machining through one of the plate layers. The machined exclusion slots may then be filled with epoxy or other material. An electrostatic chuck or other structure manufactured according to such methods.
Ceramic matrix composite component and method of producing a ceramic matrix composite component
A method of producing a ceramic matrix composite component. The method includes positioning a first plurality of ceramic matrix composite plies on top of one another, disposing a filler pack on the first plurality of ceramic matrix composite plies, and positioning a second plurality of ceramic matrix composite plies on top of the filler pack. One of the first plurality of ceramic composite plies or the second plurality of ceramic composite plies includes a bend angle, to define an interstice between the plurality of ceramic matrix composite plies with the filler pack disposed in the interstice. The filler pack includes one or more sacrificial fibers disposed therein, that subsequent to removal provide a functional feature, such as a cooling manifold in the filler pack. The method further includes forming one or more channels coupled to the one or more functional features for the flow of a cooling fluid therethrough. A ceramic matrix composite is also disclosed.
Additively manufactured casting core-shell mold and ceramic shell with variable thermal properties
A method of forming a cast component and a method of forming a casting mold. The method is performed by connecting at least one wax gate component to a ceramic core-shell mold. The ceramic core-shell mold includes at least a filter, first core portion, a first shell portion, and at least one first cavity between the core portion and the first shell portion. The core-shell mold may be manufactured using an additive manufacturing process and may include an integrated ceramic filter. At least a portion of the ceramic core-shell mold and the wax gate component is coated with a second ceramic material. The wax gate component is then removed to form a second cavity in fluid communication with the first cavity.
CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE LAMINATE TUBE SHEET AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A laminate composite structure having at least one tubular region and at least one bonded region. The structure has a first composite layer, a second composite layer, a cavity, and one or more reinforcing fibers. Each composite layer comprises composite material with a top face and a bottom face opposite the top face. The top face of one is joined to the bottom face of the other along an interlaminar region. The cavity separates the bottom face and the top face to form a tube. The tube has an internal boundary defined by the bottom face and the top face. The reinforcing fibers line the internal boundary and are arranged so that the reinforcing fibers reduce the propensity of the composites layer to separate under internal pressure loading.
JOINED BODY, HOLDING DEVICE, AND ELECTROSTATIC CHUCK
A joining layer of a joined body includes a joining material which contains, as a main component, a metal having a surface tension of 1000 mN/m or less at its melting point, and a metal layer which has a plurality of pores formed therein and in which at least some of the pores are impregnated with the joining material.
CMC COMPONENT WITH INTEGRAL COOLING CHANNELS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A fiber-reinforced component for use in a gas turbine engine includes a first braided fiber sleeve forming a cooling channel and a plurality of fiber plies enclosing the first braided fiber sleeve, with the plurality of fiber plies forming first and second walls separated by the first braided fiber sleeve. The fiber-reinforced component further includes a matrix material between fibers of the braided fiber sleeve and the plurality of fiber plies.
3-D printing of a ceramic component
A method for producing the component, and to the use of the component. The method for producing a three-dimensional, ceramic component containing silicon carbide, by a) providing a powdery composition having a grain size (d50) between 3 microns and 500 microns and comprising at least 50 wt % of coke, b) providing a liquid binder, c) depositing a layer of the material provided in a) in a planar manner and locally depositing drops of the material provided in b) onto said layer and repeating step c), the local depositing of the drops in the subsequent repetitions of the step is adapted in accordance with the desired shape of the component to be produced, d) at least partially curing or drying the binder and obtaining a green body having the desired shape of the component, e) carbonising the green body, and f) siliconising the carbonised green body by infiltration with liquid silicon.
Method for producing a metal-ceramic substrate with electrically conductive vias
A method for producing a metal-ceramic substrate with a plurality of electrically conductive vias includes: attaching a first metal layer in a planar manner to a first surface side of a ceramic layer; after attaching the first metal layer, introducing a copper hydroxide or copper acetate brine into a plurality of holes in the ceramic layer delimiting a via, to form an assembly; converting the copper hydroxide or copper acetate brine into copper oxide; subjecting the assembly to a high-temperature step above 500° C. in which the copper oxide forms a copper body in the plurality of holes; and after converting the copper hydroxide or copper acetate brine into the copper oxide, attaching a second metal layer in a planar manner to a second surface side of the ceramic layer opposite the first surface side. The copper body produces an electrically conductive connection between the first and the second metal layers.
