A vaporization core, a method of manufacturing the same, and an electronic vaporization device comprising the same are disclosed. The vaporization core includes a tubular porous substrate for forming a vaporization cavity and configured to guide liquid outside the tubular porous substrate into the vaporization cavity and a heating element disposed on an inner wall of the tubular porous substrate and configured to heat and vaporize the liquid guided into the vaporization cavity.
Rotor assembly with multiple rotor disks
A rotor assembly is provided for a gas turbine engine. This rotor assembly includes a first rotor disk, a second rotor disk, a plurality of rotor blades and a plurality of disk mounts. The first rotor disk is configured to rotate about a rotational axis. The second rotor disk is configured to rotate about the rotational axis. The rotor blades are arranged circumferentially around the rotational axis. Each of the rotor blades is mounted to the first rotor disk and to the second rotor disk. The rotor blades include a first rotor blade. Each of the disk mounts connects the first rotor disk and the second rotor disk together. The disk mounts include a first disk mount that further supports the first rotor blade.
MONOLITHIC CERAMIC SURGICAL DEVICE AND METHOD
A medical device and associated methods are disclosed. In one example, the medical device includes an electrosurgical forceps. In selected examples, one or more structural components of the electrosurgical forceps includes a sintered ceramic microstructure. In selected examples other medical devices, including a debrider and a lithotripter, include a sintered ceramic microstructure.
Seed crystal holder for pulling up single crystal and method of manufacturing silicon single crystal using the same
A seed crystal holder for pulling up a single crystal is made of a carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material, and has a substantially cylindrical shape with a hollow space having a shape matching an outer shape of a substantially rod-shaped seed crystal. A direction of carbon fibers at a part in contact with at least an outer peripheral surface of the seed crystal has isotropy as viewed from a central axis of the hollow space.
Integral ceramic matrix composite fastener with polymer rigidization
A gas turbine engine component includes a gas turbine engine component body formed of a ceramic matrix composite material having at least one fastener integrally formed with the gas turbine engine component body as a single-piece structure. The gas turbine engine component body initially comprises a rigidized preform structure formed from a polymer based material. The at least one fastener connects the gas turbine engine component body to an engine support structure.
CMC component with integral cooling channels and method of manufacture
A fiber-reinforced component for use in a gas turbine engine includes a fiber sleeve forming a cooling channel and a plurality of fiber plies enclosing the fiber sleeve, with the plurality of fiber plies forming first and second walls separated by the fiber sleeve. The fiber-reinforced component further includes a matrix material between fibers of the fiber sleeve and the plurality of fiber plies.
GAS-TIGHT, HEAT-PERMEABLE MULTILAYER CERAMIC COMPOSITE TUBE
Described herein is a gaslight multilayered composite tube having a heat transfer coefficient of >500 W/m.sup.2/K which in its construction over the cross section of the wall of the composite tube includes as an inner layer a nonporous monolithic oxide ceramic surrounded by an outer layer of oxidic fiber composite ceramic, where this outer layer has an open porosity of 5%<ε<50%, and which on the inner surface of the composite tube includes a plurality of depressions oriented towards the outer wall of the composite tube. Also described herein is a method of using the multilayered composite tube as a reaction tube for endothermic reactions, jet tubes, flame tubes or rotary tubes.
Heat shield with outer fiber winding and high-temperature furnace and gas converter having a heat shield
A hollow-cylindrical heat shield includes at least one graphite foil and at least one fiber structure, preferably a wound fiber structure, disposed on the outer side of the at least one graphite foil. The (wound) fiber structure has a degree of coverage of less than 100%. A high-temperature furnace or gas converter having a heat shield is also provided.
SEMICONDUCTOR SUBSTRATE SUPPORT WITH MULTIPLE ELECTRODES AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A method for manufacturing an electrostatic chuck with multiple chucking electrodes made of ceramic pieces using metallic aluminum as the joining. The aluminum may be placed between two pieces and the assembly may be heated in the range of 770 C to 1200 C. The joining atmosphere may be non-oxygenated. After joining the exclusions in the electrode pattern may be machined by also machining through one of the plate layers. The machined exclusion slots may then be filled with epoxy or other material. An electrostatic chuck or other structure manufactured according to such methods.
HIGH OPTICAL POWER LIGHT CONVERSION DEVICE USING A PHOSPHOR ELEMENT WITH SOLDER ATTACHMENT
A light generator comprises a light conversion device and a light source arranged to apply a light beam to the light conversion element. The light conversion device includes an optoceramic or other solid phosphor element comprising one or more phosphors embedded in a ceramic, glass, or other host, a metal heat sink, and a solder bond attaching the optoceramic phosphor element to the metal heat sink. The optoceramic phosphor element does not undergo cracking in response to the light source applying a light beam of beam energy effective to heat the optoceramic phosphor element to the phosphor quenching point.
