SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY GENERATING ORGANIC COMPOST FROM WASTE

Various embodiments are described herein for an apparatus that implements one or methods for producing compost. The method may include receiving waste in a composting apparatus, the waste having a first moisture content; pre-treating the waste to produce pre-treated waste; storing the pre-treated waste into a storage chamber for a pretreatment time period to produce stored waste; and composting the stored waste in a compost chamber to produce a batch of output compost having a second moisture content, wherein the second moisture content is less than the first moisture content.

The invention relates to a process for recovering ammonia from an initial aqueous mixture comprising ammonium ions and ammonium salts, the process comprising providing an initial aqueous mixture, desorbing ammonia using humid, heated air to obtain a desorbing liquid phase and a desorbing gas phase, separating the desorbing liquid phase, mixing the desorbing gas phase with a capture gas to obtain a gas mixture, and condensing the gas mixture to obtain a condensate comprising ammonium ions and salt, and an outlet gas. The desorbing liquid phase comprises ammonium ions and ammonium salts in a total concentration of less than 100 ppm. The capture gas comprises carbon dioxide in an amount of at least 50,000 ppm. The total concentration of ammonium ions and ammonium salts in the condensate is higher than the total concentration in the initial aqueous mixture. The invention further relates to a system for performing an ammonium recovery process, a composting system, a composting process and a system for composting and recovering ammonia.

COMPOSTING DEVICE

A method of determining the volume of organic material in a composting device includes rotating a mixing paddle in a composting bin that stores the organic material; monitoring the torque from a motor that rotates the mixing paddle as the mixing paddle rotates; and determining the height of the organic material in the composting bin based on the motor torque and the angular displacement of the mixing paddle. The resulting height can be used to determine the volume of the organic material.

A method and a system for making compost are provided. The method includes following steps. First, a temperature of a compost controlling system is obtained. A heater module is turned on in a first mode. If the temperature is higher than a first predetermined temperature in the first mode, it switches into a second mode and the heater module is turned off. If the temperature is higher than a second predetermined temperature which is higher than the second predetermined temperature in the second mode, it switches into a third mode. If the temperature is lower than a third predetermined which is lower than the second predetermined temperature in the third mode, a compost completion message is generated. Accordingly, a probability of making the compost successfully is increased.

Aqueous and solid ammonium sulfate fertilizers and methods of producing
12252450 · 2025-03-18 · ·

Aqueous and solid ammonium sulfate fertilizers derived from an organic feedstock and a mineral sulfate compound. The aqueous fertilizers have at least 3.5% nitrogen and at least 4% sulfur, and the solid fertilizers have about 21% nitrogen and about 24% sulfur. Methods for producing the fertilizers include preparing an organic feedstock by causing organic waste to undergo anaerobic digestion, removing solids from the organic feedstock to produce an organic liquid effluent, performing a distillation process on the organic liquid effluent to strip and concentrate a vapor that contains ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water and cool the vapor to produce a condensed solution containing ammonium bicarbonate and/or ammonium carbonate, and contacting the condensed solution with the mineral sulfate compound to cause a reaction therebetween and produce an aqueous ammonium sulfate product. An evaporation process can be performed on the aqueous ammonium sulfate product to produce a dry, solid ammonium sulfate product.

Method, system and stable for phosphate recovery from a waste stream

The invention relates to a method and system for phosphate recovering from a waste stream, such as an animal manure waste stream. The method comprises the steps of: providing a tank reactor; 5 providing acidogenic bacteria and/or acetogenic bacteria and the waste stream to the tank reactor, hydrolysing the waste stream, forming a reaction mixture; providing a gas flow to the reaction mixture for removing carbon dioxide from the reaction mixture; 10 providing the reaction mixture to an anaerobic sludge reactor, removing a compound comprising phosphate from the reaction mixture within the anaerobic sludge reactor, and removing gas from the reaction mixture within the anaerobic sludge reactor.
