GRANULAR FERTILIZERS AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME

Coated granules and methods of making the coated granules that prevent the coated granules from floating and/or drifting due to water current and wind are disclosed. The coated granules may include a core having a water-soluble compound, such as a fertilizer; a controlled release layer; a surface treatment including a surfactant to reduce water tension; and an optional coating disposed between the controlled release layer and the surface treatment layer that includes a gelling agent, such as a super absorbent polymer, that may help to anchor the coated granules to the surface of the soil and reduces the chance of relocation due to rolling.

NITROGEN FERTILIZER COMPOSITIONS BASED ON POLYPHOSPHATE CAGED STRUCTURE
20230391684 · 2023-12-07 ·

Urea based nitrogenous fertilizers are described which have reduced water solubility. The fertilizers are intended to provide environmental benefits and economic advantages over urea. The fertilizers are a product of reaction of urea with polyphosphates whereby the urea is trapped within the polyphosphate crystal cage. The fertilizers contain nitrogen, phosphorus and one or more of calcium, magnesium and iron. The fertilizers optionally contain other nitrogen compounds and optionally other micronutrients. The fertilizers are granular.

SEAWEED EXTRACT COATED FERTILIZER FOR BETTER CROPS AND SOIL HEALTH

Seaweed and/or seaweed extract coated fertilizer core, methods for their use, and production thereof, are disclosed. The fertilizer core, coated by the seaweed and/or seaweed coating, can contain 50 wt. % or more, based on the total weight of the core, of a urea-based fertilizer, or an inorganic fertilizer containing one or more of nitrogen, phosphorus, or potassium, or a combination thereof. The coating can include a seaweed and/or seaweed extract, and optionally contain or exclude gypsum, water insoluble polymer(s) other than native water insoluble polymers present in the seaweed or extract thereof, water, solubilizing agent(s), anticaking agent(s), and/or binding agent(s).

Lubricated agricultural mixture

A lubricated agricultural mixture and method(s) of use thereof is described. Embodiments of the lubricated agricultural mixture can include a carbon source, a fertilizer, a binder, and a hydrogel. The lubricated agricultural mixture can be formed into tablets, granules, and wafers. The different forms of the lubricated agricultural mixture can be implemented in various situations. For instance, the table form can be distributed via machinery such that the carbon source acts as a lubricant for the machinery to minimize wear on the machinery.

WATER-SOLUBLE CONTROLLED RELEASE COMPOSITION AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING THE SAME
20210289772 · 2021-09-23 · ·

The present invention relates generally to a water-soluble controlled release composition for eradication or control of insects and/or vegetation in a body of water, comprising: a water-soluble polymer acting as a matrix composition which can float in water; at least one active ingredient for eradicating or controlling a targeted insect and/or vegetation, the release of the active ingredient is regulated by the gradual dissolution of the composition; a surfactant; and a binder in an amount suitable to allow for blending of the above ingredients into a matrix composition. The invention also provides methods for making the composition and using the composition.

Combined fertilizer and humics soluble granules
11097989 · 2021-08-24 · ·

A combined fertilizer and humics soluble granule is provided that includes at least soluble fertilizer particles admixed with a plurality of humic particles without a binder. A combined fertilizer and humics soluble granule is also provided that includes at least one soluble fertilizer-rich domain fused to at least one humic-rich domain. A process of forming a combined fertilizer and humics soluble granule is provided that includes forming a mixture of particles of soluble fertilizer and humics, the particles of urea each having a urea particle surface. The soluble fertilizer particle surface is tackified in contact with the particles of humics to create adherence between the soluble fertilizer particle surface and the particle of humics to form a granule without resort to a binder.

COMPOSITIONS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY OF AN ELEMENT IN RESPONSE TO BIOLOGICAL DEMAND

The invention provides compositions and systems comprising a carrier and an element. The carrier is a network of polymers insoluble in water comprising phenolic hydroxyl moieties, aliphatic hydroxyl moieties or a combination thereof. An association between the carrier and the element is labile in response to biological demand and the lability of the association in the presence of water is less than the lability of the association in response to biological demand. Also provided are methods of making such compositions and methods for delivering the element to an organism.

PLANT NUTRIENT COMPOSITIONS
20210230082 · 2021-07-29 ·

The present disclosure generally relates to solution dispersible plant nutrient compositions, and methods of preparing and use thereof. The solution dispersible plant nutrient composition can provide a plant nutrient with a source of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and where the composition comprises an amount of polyethylene glycol for facilitating dispersion and dissolution of the plant nutrient source into an aqueous solution.

HYDROPHOBIC COATINGS TO IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL QUALITY PARAMETERS OF FERTILIZERS

A fertilizer composition including a base fertilizer granule with a hydrophobic or super-hydrophobic coating that reduces fertilizer caking and dust formation. The coating can include a roughening component, which creates micron-scale surface roughness, and a hydrophobic coating containing wax. Together, the components of the coating act to physically protect water soluble fertilizers granules from the ingress of moisture and from caking, and increase the resistance of the granules to abrasion.

Graphene for fertilizer applications

A new slow-release fertilisers is described that is formed by applying graphene oxide (GO) as a carrier for micronutrients such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), in which the micronutrients are efficiently bonded with the functional groups at the surface and sides of the GO sheets due to their affinity to the unpaired oxygen atoms in the GO. The prepared Cu-graphene oxide (Cu-GO) and Zn-graphene oxide (Zn-GO) fertilizers showed a biphasic dissolution behaviour compared to commercial zinc sulphate (ZnSO.sub.4) and copper sulphate (CuSO.sub.4) fertilizer granules, displaying both fast- and slow-release micronutrient release.
