Applicator Having a Microstructured Surface
The invention relates to a bristle carrier and bristles (1) formed thereon, the surface of the bristles (1) being microstructured at least in segments, in that a plurality of grains (2, 3) protrude haphazardly from the bristle core (4) in the region of the microstructured surface and are connected to the bristle core (4) only along less than 40%, preferably less than 35% of the outer surface thereof, and comprise an average diameter (M1, M2) of less than or equal to 125 m, preferably less than or equal to 90 m.
BRUSH FOR LICE OR OTHER PARASITIC INSECTS
A lice brush includes a body that supports a plurality of bristles. The body also includes a handle. One or more of the plurality of bristles is configured for use in brushing a user's hair for lice. In particular, one or more of the bristles includes recesses, grooves, indentations, notches, pits or similar inwardly-extending spaces configured to facilitate removal of lice as the bristles pass through the hair. Multiple bristles can be provided in a bristle unit and multiple bristle units can be employed in a bristle assembly of the brush.
Bristle element for brush and brush roll
The invention provides a brush bristle and a brush roll that exhibit a suitable abrasive force and that can reduce or eliminate the abrasion of a mill roll as much as possible. The brush bristle is for use in a brush roll B configured to scour a mill roll for rolling a metal sheet S, and includes one or more monofilaments 2 made of a thermoplastic resin containing abrasive particles. The abrasive particles have a hardness lower than the hardness of the mill roll, and higher than the hardness of the metal sheet S.
Oral Care Implement and Filament for the Same
A mechanically tapered bristle filament for an oral care implement. The filament is characterized by a long thin tapered end portion. The tapered end portion has a taper length and tip diameter comparable to chemically tapered filaments. The areal surface roughness of the tapered end portion however is greater than chemically tapered filaments thereby producing increased scrubbing action against the surfaces of the teeth. The foregoing taper and roughness characteristics of the present filament enhance inter-dental cleaning effectiveness.
Filament having unique tip and surface characteristics
An oral-care implement including a filament comprising an external material and at least a first internal material. The filament includes an elongated flexible body having a length, a longitudinal axis, and a longitudinal outer surface comprising the external material, the elongated body terminating with a tip having a tip surface comprising the external material, wherein the tip surface has therein a plurality of craters distributed throughout the tip surface in a predetermined pattern, each of the craters having a surface edge of a predetermined size and a predetermined shape, walls extending longitudinally from the surface edge and comprising the external material, and a bottom comprising the at least first internal material and situated at a depth from the surface edge, the surface edge being formed by the walls and the tip surface.

Oral care implement
An oral care implement that includes a handle and a head. The head may include a support structure and a monolithic cleaning unit coupled thereto. The monolithic cleaning unit may include a base portion coupled to the support structure and a plurality of bristles extending therefrom. At least one, or each, of the plurality of bristles may comprise a body having an outer surface and a rib extending from the outer surface. The rib may be longitudinally elongated in some embodiments and it may be helical in other embodiments. Furthermore, there may be more than one rib extending from the outer surface of the body. The monolithic cleaning unit may be formed of an elastomeric material.

ORAL-CARE IMPLEMENT HAVING COLOR-COMMUNICATIVE ELEMENT
An oral-care implement comprises a mounting surface having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and a plurality of filaments outwardly extending from the mounting surface in at least one direction not parallel to either one of the longitudinal axis and the transverse axis, each filament having a free end terminating with a tip. At least some of the filaments possess at least one functional characteristic selected from the group consisting of filament's structure, composition, cross-sectional shape, tip geometry, and any combination thereof. A plurality of filament tips comprises a working surface that includes at least a first color and a second color different from the first color. The at least first color forms at least one scaled-up image graphically replicating the at least one functional characteristic, thereby visually communicating to a consumer that the oral-care implement includes filaments having certain functional characteristic(s)and that the oral-care implement possesses superior efficacy attributable to said filaments.
