METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR END ROUNDING BRISTLES
A method for end rounding bristles of a brush section includes providing a focused laser beam propagating along a geometrical main propagation direction and having a main irradiation spot, providing a relative motion between an end of each bristle and the main irradiation spot of the focused laser beam such that the end of each bristle is moved through the main irradiation spot in a path having a main component transverse to a longitudinal extension of the bristle, wherein the focused laser beam is directed such that the geometrical main propagation direction has a main component transverse to the longitudinal extension of respective bristle having its end at the main irradiation spot, whereby a rounding of the end is provided by the focused laser beam heating the end and causing it to partly melt and form a rounded end, and providing a relative motion between the main irradiation spot and the brush section along a direction having a main component being transverse to the path, thereby subjecting in sequence the ends of the plurality of bristles to the focused laser beam thereby providing a brush section having end rounded bristles. The disclosure also relates to an apparatus.
LIVESTOCK GROOMING ARTICLE
Various embodiments of a livestock grooming article and method of forming same are disclosed. The livestock grooming article includes a handle extending along a handle axis, and a head extending along a head axis and connected to the handle. The head includes a body including a first major surface and a second major surface, and a back slidably connected to the first major surface of the body. The back includes a first major surface and a second major surface, where the first major surface of the back faces the first major surface of the body when the back is connected to the head. The head also includes a bristle extending through the body and beyond the second major surface of the body.
TOOTHBRUSH BRISTLE
A toothbrush, comprises a handle; a head connected to the handle; and a plurality of bristles, respective ones of the plurality of bristles including a first end having a first shape formed by an end-rounding process, a second end having a second shape, and a substantially cylindrical shaft extending between the first end and the second end. The bristles are fastened to the head by a fastener at a fastening point along the shaft, the fastening point being located nearer to the second end than to the first end such that the first end extends from a surface of the head to a first height and the second end extends from the surface of the head to a second height. The first height is greater than the second height.
BRUSH HEAD FOR A TOOTHBRUSH AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE BRUSH HEAD
The brush head of the toothbrush has filaments that are pointed at one end and led through clearances in the bristle carrier. These filaments have a length of about 10-20 mm. The tips of the pointed filaments produce a height profile other than that of a plane and the ends of the pointed filaments that are remote from the tips are melted.
Fluid Dispensing Brush
A fluid dispensing brush for applying a fluid to hair includes a plurality of bristles that is coupled to and extends from a housing. The bristles are tubular and are in fluidic communication with an interior space defined by the housing. Each of a plurality of holes is positioned in a respective bristle. A handle extends from a first end of the housing. A channel extends through the handle to the housing. A pump is positioned in the channel proximate to the housing and is in fluidic communication with the interior space. A reservoir is selectively insertable into the channel so that a nozzle of the reservoir sealably couples to an inlet of the pump. The pump is configured to selectively pump a fluid that is positioned in the reservoir through the interior space and the bristles to exit through the holes to apply the fluid to the hair.
BACKCOMBING BRUSH
A backcombing brush for backcombing hair includes an array of bristles 4. Each bristle extends from a base to a free end and two lengths of bristle are provided. Shorter bristles 4a and the bottom of longer bristles 4b carry out backcombing, whilst the longer bristles smooth hair, or untangle knots/tangles in the hair to reduce the level of backcombing. The long bristles have a relatively wide first portion 5, towards the base of the bristle, and a relatively narrow second portion 6, towards the free end of the bristle. The bristles are arranged such that bristles in one row neither extend between adjacent bristles in an adjacent row nor partially occlude the space between bristles in an adjacent row.
Oil stripping device
An oil stripping device for removing oil from hair includes a plate that has a handle is coupled to an end. A pad, which comprises a sorbent and is configured to absorb oil, is coupled to an upper face of the plate. A plurality of bristles is coupled to and extends from the upper face of the plate through the pad. The handle is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user positioning the bristles to brush a strand of hair. Each bristle comprises a wall that is annular so that the bristle is tubular. A plurality of barbs is coupled to and extends from the wall. The barbs are configured to scrape oil from hairs and to direct the oil toward the wall. The oil enters the bristle through set of holes. The bristle directs the oil to the pad, positioning the pad to absorb the oil.
Dental cleaner discharge guard systems and methods
Rotating dental systems and related guards and methods are disclosed. In some instances a guard may be configured to prevent material from building up on at least a portion of the dental system. The guard may be configured to prevent materials from being discharged from the dental system. In some embodiments, the guard may also be configured to direct the flow of material along a portion of the dental system. Some guards within the scope of this disclosure comprise bristles.
