CATALYST AND ITS USE IN ETHYLBENZENE DEALKYLATION
An ethylbenzene dealkylation catalyst composition comprising a ZSM-5 type zeolite as a carrier component, wherein said zeolite has been synthesized from an aqueous reaction mixture comprising one or more alumina sources, one or more silica sources, one or more alkali sources, and one or more primary and/or secondary amines and wherein the ZSM-5 type zeolite has a number average crystallite size in the range of from 1 to 10 μm and a molar silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) in the range of from 30 to 70; a method for reducing xylene losses in an ethylbenzene dealkylation process, said method comprising conducting the ethylbenzene dealklylation process in the presence of the afore-mentioned catalyst composition; and a process for the dealkylation of ethylbenzene, which process comprises contacting, in the presence of hydrogen, a feedstock which comprises ethylbenzene with said catalyst composition.

ALKYLAROMATIC CONVERSION CATALYST SYSTEM
An alkylaromatic conversion catalyst system having (a) a first catalyst composition having (i) a carrier which includes a binder composition prepared from a mixture having one or more oligomerized alkoxy silicates and one or more hydrolyzing agents; and a ZSM-5 zeolite; (ii) one or more metals chosen from the group consisting of Groups 6, 9, 10 and 11; and optionally, (iii) a Group 14 metal; and (b) a second catalyst composition having (i) a carrier which includes a refractory oxide binder and a zeolite selected from one or more of ZSM-5, ferrierite, ZSM-11, ZSM-12 and EU-1; (ii) one or more metals chosen from the group consisting of Groups 6, 9, 10 and 11; and optionally, (iii) a Group 14 metal.

A PROCESS FOR THE CONVERSION OF LIGHT ALKANES TO AROMATIC COMPOUNDS WITH IMPROVED SELECTIVITY
In a process for the catalytic conversion of lower hydrocarbons to aromatic compounds comprising benzene, toluene and xylenes, a process stream containing lower hydrocarbons is contacted with a zeolitic catalyst having an MFI framework and containing 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of a zinc compound. The process stream further contains one or more sulfur compounds, especially hydrogen sulfide, for improving the selectivity.
A PROCESS FOR THE CONVERSION OF LIGHT ALKANES TO AROMATIC COMPOUNDS WITH IMPROVED SELECTIVITY
In a process for the catalytic conversion of lower hydrocarbons to aromatic compounds comprising benzene, toluene and xylenes, a process stream containing lower hydrocarbons is contacted with a zeolitic catalyst having an MFI framework and containing 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of a zinc compound. The process stream further contains one or more sulfur compounds, especially hydrogen sulfide, for improving the selectivity.
METHOD FOR AROMATIZATION OF LOWER HYDROCARBONS TO PRODUCE BENZENE AND OTHER AROMATICS
A method for the aromatization of hydrocarbons, comprising: introducing a feed stream to an aromatization catalyst in a fixed bed reactor wherein the feed stream comprises a hydrocarbon having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, converting the hydrocarbon having 2 to 4 carbon atoms to form an outlet stream comprising an aromatic hydrocarbon; wherein the feed stream is introduced at a GHSV of greater than or equal to 4,000 milliliters per gram of catalyst per hour(ml.Math.g.sup.−1 Cat.Math.h.sup.−1), and a pressure of greater than or equal to 0.4 MPa. The feed stream can comprise hydrogen in an amount of at least 0.1 volume percent (vol %) up to 20 vol % based upon total volume of the feed stream.
METHOD FOR AROMATIZATION OF LOWER HYDROCARBONS TO PRODUCE BENZENE AND OTHER AROMATICS
A method for the aromatization of hydrocarbons, comprising: introducing a feed stream to an aromatization catalyst in a fixed bed reactor wherein the feed stream comprises a hydrocarbon having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, converting the hydrocarbon having 2 to 4 carbon atoms to form an outlet stream comprising an aromatic hydrocarbon; wherein the feed stream is introduced at a GHSV of greater than or equal to 4,000 milliliters per gram of catalyst per hour(ml.Math.g.sup.−1 Cat.Math.h.sup.−1), and a pressure of greater than or equal to 0.4 MPa. The feed stream can comprise hydrogen in an amount of at least 0.1 volume percent (vol %) up to 20 vol % based upon total volume of the feed stream.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING LIGHT AROMATIC
A method for producing light aromatics, includes the steps of: i) contacting a feedstock comprising heavy aromatic(s) with a catalyst in a fluidized reactor for aromatics lightening reaction in the presence of hydrogen to obtain a product rich in C6-C8 light aromatic(s) and a spent catalyst, wherein the heavy aromatic is one or more selected from C9+ aromatics; ii) separating the resulted product rich in C6-C8 light aromatic(s) to obtain hydrogen, a non-aromatic component, C6-C8 light aromatic(s) and a C9+ aromatic component; and iii) recycling at least a part of the C9+ aromatic component to the fluidized reactor. The method has strong adaptability to feedstocks and high flexibility in operation and allows a long-period stable operation. The method can produce high-value light aromatics from heavy aromatics that are difficult to be treated and utilized.
Metal carbide nanomaterial catalysts and production method thereof
A catalyst that includes heterogeneous metal carbide nanomaterials and a novel preparation method to synthesize the metal carbide nanomaterials under relatively mild conditions to form an encapsulated transition metal and/or transition metal carbide nanoclusters in a support and/or binder. The catalyst may include confined platinum carbide nanoclusters. The preparation may include the treatment of encapsulated platinum nanoclusters with ethane at elevated temperatures. The catalysts may be used for catalytic hydrocarbon conversions, which include but are not limited to, ethane aromatization, and for selective hydrogenation, with negligible green oil production.
