PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CYCLOHEXANOL AND CYCLOHEXANONE
The invention concerns a method for preparing a mixture containing cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone, comprising the step of hydrogenating cyclohexyl hydroperoxide in cyclohexane in the presence of a Raney nickel catalyst to give cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone.
PROCESS AND INTEGRATED PLANT FOR THE TREATMENT OF THE CARBON OXIDES FORMED IN THE PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM
A process can be used for the treatment of an offgas stream, which is formed in a plant for the production of aluminum by electrolytic reduction of aluminum oxide in a melt, using at least one anode composed of a carbon-containing material. The offgas stream contains carbon oxides due to the reduction of the aluminum oxide by the carbon. At least a substream of the carbon oxides contained in the offgas stream is reacted with hydrogen or mixed with a hydrogen stream and is subsequently passed to a use. After purification and conditioning of the offgas stream in a device, an enrichment, for example with carbon monoxide, can subsequently be carried out in a reactor and the synthesis gas obtained in this way can be fed to a chemical or biotechnological plant for the synthesis of chemicals of value.

Hydrocarbon Pyrolysis with Less Exhaust Emission
Processes, systems, and apparatus are provided for using a common working fluid for one or more turbines for processing a process gas and for the furnace for the pyrolysis process used to produce the process gas. The turbine(s) are operated based on a modified Allam cycle to produce power for operating one or more compressors and/or refrigerators involved in processing of the process gas while producing a reduced or minimized amount of CO.sub.2 that is released as a low-pressure gas phase product. Integrating the pyrolysis furnace with the working fluid loop can provide further benefits.

PLANT LEAVES-DERIVED CARBON MATERIAL DOPED WITH TWO METALS AND PREPARATION AND USE THEREOF
A plant leaves-derived carbon material doped with two metals and preparation and use thereof are provided, the carbon material prepared by carbonizing, in an inert atmosphere, plant leaves which have absorbed ions of two metals M1 and M2. The metal M1 is Co, Mn, or Fe. The metal M2 is Ni, Cu, or Zn. The carbon material can be used as an efficient, green, and safe catalyst for the selective oxidation of cycloalkanes to produce cycloalkanols and cycloalkanones, and enable an increased selectivity of the target products (thus less by-products), a low yield of cycloalkyl peroxides, reduced reaction temperature, low environmental impact, and safe production.

DINUCLEAR COPPER CATALYST FOR THE OXIDATION/OXYGENATION OF HYDROCARBONS
The subject invention provides synthetic compounds, and compound complexes having catalytic activities towards oxidation or oxygenation, and/or dehydrogenation of various substrates comprising C—H bonds. The catalysts of the subject invention comprise a dinuclear Cu(I)/Cu(II) center that can convert between a resting state and a reactive species. The subject invention also provides methods of using such catalysts for the oxidation of substrates comprising C—H bonds, e.g., hydrocarbons, to synthesize chemicals for use as pharmaceuticals and industrial feedstock.

Process for producing methanol and ammonia
A process for the co-production of methanol and ammonia is described comprising the steps of: (a) forming a first synthesis gas stream by reacting a first portion of a hydrocarbon feedstock and steam in a steam reformer, (b) forming a second synthesis gas stream in parallel to the first synthesis gas stream by reacting a second portion of the hydrocarbon feedstock with an oxygen-containing gas and steam in an autothermal reformer, (c) synthesising methanol from a first process gas comprising the first synthesis gas stream, and (d) synthesising ammonia from a second process gas prepared from the second synthesis gas stream, wherein a purge stream containing hydrogen is recovered from the methanol synthesis step (c) and a portion of the purge gas stream is fed to the autothermal reformer and/or the second synthesis gas in step (b).
