PORTABLE DESK
A portable desk (10) which comprises a main body (12), at least one wheel (18) engagable with 38 the main body (12), and a support element (14) engagable with the main body (12) at a position which is at or adjacent to the or each wheel (12). The desk (10) can be arranged in two different configurations: in the first configuration, the main body (12) is preferably free standing and arranged such that the support element (14) is disposed at a vertically uppermost end of the main body to present a work-surface (16) to a user; whereas in the second configuration, the main body (12) is arrangeable such that the wheels (18) are in contact with the ground to allow the desk to be pushed or pulled by a user. A method of converting such a portable desk into a hand-cart, and a method of converting such a portable desk into a stowable volume are also provided.
MOBILE MOTORIZED FOLDING TABLE
A motorized assembly for a mobile folding table transitions the folding table between a folded position and an unfolded position. The folding table includes a first table section hingedly connected to a second table section to permit folding and unfolding the table about a horizontal hinge axis between the folded position and the unfolded positions. Links connected to the first and second table sections are configured to articulate with the folding and unfolding of the table. The motorized assembly is connected to the links and includes an upper tube connected to a receiver member that moves the upper tube from the receiver member between an extended position that causes the table sections to fold and a contracted position that causes the table sections to unfold.
ORIGAMI-BASED FOLDABLE FURNITURE ASSEMBLY
A foldable origami-shaped furniture assembly includes floor panels including a first floor panel and a second floor panel. The first and second floor panels are pivotally moveable between a folded position and a deployed position. A table includes a first member and a second member. The first and second members are pivotally moveable between a folded position and a deployed position. A plurality of chairs, each chair is adapted to be in a folded state and in an expanded state. A cable that passes through the table and the chairs such that the cable is passively pulled when the first and second floor panels become coplanar and the first and second members become coplanar. Each chair is expanded with a front leg of the leg sliding along a channel for expanding the chair. A plurality of legs support the table in the deployed position.
FOLDABLE TABLE WITH LOCKING MECHANISM
A table assembly includes a frame, a tabletop, and a multi-stage deployment mechanism. A first portion of the frame supports a first portion of the table top and is pivotable relative to a second portion of the frame that supports a second portion of the tabletop. The table assembly is movable from a use position to an intermediate position, to a folded position beyond the intermediate position, and to a cleaning position between the use position and the intermediate position. The multi-stage deployment mechanism is operable to resist movement of the table assembly toward the use position and includes a first stage that is engaged at the intermediate position to resist movement from the intermediate position toward the use position and a second stage that is engaged at the cleaning position to resist movement from the cleaning position toward the use position.
