NEW PROCESS FOR CATALYTIC PREPARATION OF OXALATE AND OXAMIDE COMPOUNDS
An M-NHC catalyst, in which M represents Pd or Pt and NHC represents an N-heterocyclic carbene group, including at least one M atom linked to at least one N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, and the method of using the M-NHC catalyst for selectively preparing oxalates or oxamides, from carbon monoxide, an oxidant, in particular molecular oxygen or air, and an alcohol or an amine respectively, optionally in the presence of a promoter.
AMINOPOLYCARBOXYLATES AS RATE PROMOTERS FOR THE GLACIAL ACETIC ACID PROCESS
A process for producing and recovering acetic acid in an acetic acid production system is disclosed, the process comprising contacting methanol, methyl acetate, or a mixture of the two, and carbon monoxide in the presence of a reaction mixture comprising iodide under carbonylation conditions sufficient to form acetic acid. The reaction mixture comprises a carbonylation catalyst, water, and one or more promoters selected from the group consisting of Group I and Group II aminopolycarboxylate salts and mixtures thereof. An aspect of the process includes a method for reducing water in the acetic acid production process.

RECYCLE CONTENT ORGANIC ACIDS FROM ALKOXY CARBONYLATION
Recycle content organic acids, such as recycle content propionic acid and recycle content butyric acid, are produced using a process and system that applies physical and/or credit-based recycle content from one or more feed materials to the organic acids produced from the feed materials. Thus, recycle content organic acids may be produced that contain physical recycle content and/or credit-based recycle content.

REMOVAL OF ALDEHYDES IN ACETIC ACID PRODUCTION
Disclosed is a process and production system for producing acetic acid including steps for removal of acetaldehyde from the process. The steps for removal of acetaldehyde from the process include distillation, absorption, and stripping to concentrate acetaldehyde in a first light ends stream. Butane is added to the first light ends stream to form a second light ends stream comprising an azeotrope of butane and acetaldehyde. A method for removing acetaldehyde from a solution comprising acetaldehyde is also disclosed.
