A method for the manufacture of a worktop formed of at least one glass-ceramic substrate with a surface area of greater than 0.7 m.sup.2 in which at least one cycle of ceramization of a glass plate with a surface area of greater than 0.7 m.sup.2 is carried out in a manner where the rate of passage is reduced or the length of the ceramization furnace or the residence time in said furnace is increased.

An improved multifunctional workbench which comprises a desk element and one or more storage compartments, configured for housing documents, located under it. The desk element is made, at least partially, of a material presenting variable light transmission properties, such that it can selectively pass from a transparent configuration to an opaque configuration. Advantageously, the workbench allows to keep the desk, which is normally full of documents, clean, because makes visible the documents stored in the storage compartments below it selectively. Otherwise, it is possible to keep such documents hidden when necessary, for privacy reasons.

Provided is a table top including: an upper plate, which is constituted by a plate-shaped non-magnetic member so as to support an electronic or cooking device placed thereon; an energy supply module, which is disposed under the upper plate so as to supply energy to the electronic or cooking device; at least one light source configured to generate light; and at least one light-transmissive portion, which is provided in the upper plate and through which the light generated by the light source is transmitted; and at least one light guide configured to guide the light, generated by the light source, to the light-transmissive portion, wherein the at least one light guide allows at least a portion of the light, generated by the light source, to be emitted upward from the upper plate through the light-transmissive portion.

A child activity center includes a tabletop having a top play surface and a bottom surface opposite the top play surface, and a central opening. The top surface further comprises a rounded edge that acts to guide the entry of an adhesive cutting wire. The replaceable adhesive layer comprises embedded wire guides that define a cutting zone substantially the width of the cutting wire through the adhesive. The embedded wire guides restrict the cutting wire to the cutting zone while the adhesive is being cut, thereby allowing the first usable side and the second usable side to be alternately attached to the adhesive layer.
