DYNAMIC FURNITURE ITEMS WITH INTERCHANGEABLE PANELS
This application describes a unique design and a method for designing furniture items that incorporate removable panels to either decorate or alter the use of a standard furniture item. The proposed furniture items take the form of standard furniture items but have recessed areas or cavities incorporated into different portions of the structure. These cavities correspond to and fit different panels which display artwork or different utility elements. These panels can be interchanged between different furniture items of the similar design.

A multipurpose table may include an inner recessed area having a floor, a ledge around at least a portion of the perimeter of the table, and one or more rails between the floor and the ledge. The floor may be adjustable between various heights. A plurality of table covers may rest on the rails and be flush with the ledge. Table accessories may include attachment mechanisms for securing the accessories to the ledge. The attachment mechanisms may include stops insertable through a top surface of the table surface proximate the rail, and a cavity securable around the ledge. A stop receiver may also be positioned around the ledge and capable for receiving the stop.

The invention relates to a kitchen furniture item having a horizontal worktop or tabletop and a substructure which holds the worktop, wherein the worktop or tabletop is built up in modular fashion from at least two panel parts which are releasably connected to one another along common lateral edges, wherein at least one of the panel parts is a functional panel part which is provided with a treatment. The invention further relates to a method for integrating a functional panel part into a worktop or tabletop of such a kitchen furniture item and to a method for replacing one panel part of a worktop or tabletop of such a kitchen furniture item with another panel part.

Magnetically Attached Removable Tabletop
A table comprising a table base and a tabletop is disclosed. The table base comprises a top surface comprising a rotatable portion comprising one or more permanent magnets. The rotatable portion rotates independently from the table base. At least a portion of the tabletop comprises a ferromagnetic material. The tabletop further comprises a usable first side and a usable second side alternately mounted to the table base by an attractive force between the ferromagnetic material and the one or more permanent magnets. Rotation of the rotatable portion of the top surface, such that the one or more permanent magnets are oriented away from the ferromagnetic material, engages or disengages the attractive force.

The rotatable portion rotates independently from the table base. At least a portion of the tabletop comprises a ferromagnetic material.
