A platform having a plurality of specialized openings shaped to accept specialized pegs to act as immobilizers for objects to be placed on the platform. The pegs have a shaft and at least one pair of nubs protruding from the shaft of each peg. The openings are shaped to allow the first end of the shaft to pass therethrough but not the nubs unless the peg is positioned so that the nubs are aligned with a notched portion of the opening, and the head at the second end stops further movement of the peg through the opening. When the nubs do not pass through the opening, the nubs act as a pivot axis where a portion of the peg remains above the platform. Pegs so adjustably positioned in the openings can be arranged to surround and immobilize an object on the platform.

The cover can be strapped about (and beneath) a typical elementary school desktop so as to not interfere with the regular use of the desktop and/or the positioning of a student's legs there beneath. Full desktop varieties are intended as well as partial desktops and mat strip/straps. Each version contains a plurality of sensory workstation activities. A portable version for transporting between classrooms, or for the student to use while eating or at home is also anticipated. A method of use is also claimed.

An elevation working platform includes a lower support and an upper support. At least one group of X-type elevation mechanisms is provided between the lower support and the upper support. The elevation working platform further includes an elastic element. A first end of the elastic element is connected between two end points of a first support rod or a second support rod. A second end of the elastic element is connected to the lower support or a second hinging seat capable of sliding relative to the lower support. Using the X-type elevation mechanisms, the front and back positions of the upper support do not change in an elevating process of the upper support, the structure is simple and practical, and the cost is relatively low.

The table stem is adjustable height. The base is designed in such a way that it can stably support the tabletop on a variety of surface types.
