Desk system
A desk system including desktop, legs, and foot elements is presented. Each leg is rotatably attached at one end to the desktop and attached at another end to one foot element which is also rotatable. The system is disposed in a stowed configuration when legs and foot elements are substantially parallel to the desktop and legs are disposed between and substantially parallel to foot elements. The system is disposed in an upright configuration when legs are substantially perpendicular to the desktop and each leg is substantially perpendicular to one foot element. The system is configured from stowed to upright by separately rotating legs about a minor axis in opposite directions away from one another and by separately rotating foot elements about a major axis in opposite directions toward one another. The system is configured from upright to stowed by separately rotating foot elements about the major axis in opposite directions away from one another and by separately rotating legs about the minor axis in opposite directions toward one another.
Height adjustable desktop
A height adjustable desktop includes an upper work surface platform, and a base platform, which configured to rest on an existing desk, platform, surface, or table. The height adjustable desktop further includes a height adjustment mechanism that includes two sets of two arms that connect at pivot points along their lengths so that the arms configured to move in a scissoring motion to raise and lower the upper work surface platform. The height adjustable desktop also includes two actuators that apply a force to the two sets of two arms, the actuators each containing feedback sensors that provide data regarding the current position and distance each actuator has extended, retracted or moved.
Combination, Free-Standing, Multi-Deck Personal Effects Entry Organizer Station with Power, Charging, and TV/Lighting
A single or multilevel table-like organizer designed to hold and charge cell phones and other common electronic devices such as tablets, which is also meant to provide a central point location in which a person can place the personal items that they frequently bring with them when they leave the home. The levels are referred to as decks because one version has sloping angled front sides to facilitate easy and comfortable smooth rounded surfaces for placement and retrieval as well as shallow vertical sides and full backboards to keep items securely in place on the decks. Wood columns hold up the fronts of the decks. The decks are made from plywood covered with a rubbery shelf liner, and the forward, side, and backboards are all made with wood, though other materials could be used. Additionally, there is a shelf below the decks for other items such as a laptop, which could be placed and charged there especially as there is also a built-in outlet just above this shelf mounted to a cross brace structure at the back. Coat hooks are an option on the sides of the deck/s to hang items from such as coats, hats, and purses. There are also small metal hooks that can be mounted to the lower outlet cross brace structure to hang extra keys or jewelry from. Additionally, 120-volt AC outlets with USB charging ports are built into the centers of the backboards, though strictly USB charging ports could be used instead. The USB ports have the highest available amperage capability to charge with, including the common type A port and the newer type C ports. Furthermore, these device charging organizers have the capability to mount a smart TV or a monitor for viewing on an extended and braced upper backboard above the upper deck. Another option can place a light fixture in place of the TV, and there are also additional smaller lights possible on the unit.
The two alternative organizer versions confer certain advantages. The dual level organizer depicted with the smaller upper deck centered over a larger lower deck can offer ergonomic access for multiple people from all directions at once and could be highly desirable in a party situation. Furthermore, the dual level organizer with the trapezoid shaped upper deck provides easier access to the outlets and the suspended charging cords as well as deck platforms with more accessibility and alternative ergonomics. The decks are wider though, so the width of the unit requires more space.
With this combination of features, these multi-deck device organizers provide a highly convenient and practical location in a home, and some business settings, to include hotel rooms, to place one's personal small items, to include the charg
Electrical receptacle for furniture
A furniture electrical system includes an electrical power unit including a housing that is mountable to a furniture article and that defines an interior cavity, with a low voltage DC electrical outlet positioned in the interior cavity. An electrical power cord is in electrical communication with the electrical outlet and exits the housing, the power cord extending to a higher voltage DC power supply associated with an electric motor for raising and lowering a furniture article. An electrical power converter in the housing reduces the voltage from the higher voltage DC power supply to the low voltage DC electrical outlet. Optionally, an indicia lamp associated with each outlet illuminates at a first luminous intensity when the outlet is energized, and illuminates at a different second luminous intensity when the outlet is energized and supplying power to an electrical power consumer.
ARTICLE OF FURNITURE
An article of furniture includes a top member defining a planar work surface. A support structure supports the top member in spaced relationship relative to a floor, the support structure including a plurality of legs. At least one of the legs defines a socket having an opening at a top of at least one of the legs. A power connector is arranged within the socket of at least one of the legs. The power connector is configured to make electrical contact with an electrical connector of an electrical accessory when the electrical connector is received in the socket of at least one of the legs.
Wire Management Systems and Methods
A wire management system for managing electronic wiring in relation to a structure. An elongate mounting track has a spine and locking ribs forming first and second longitudinal locking formations, and a wire management cradle has a panel of mesh forming a central cradle section and first and second attachment sections with receiving channels forming first and second longitudinal locking formations for being selectively attached to the first and second longitudinal locking formations of the mounting track. A proximal portion of one of the attachment sections can be divided into plural segments separated by openings to allow the passage of wires. An accessory rail can selectively and adjustably retain accessories, including wire management clips and power units. The wire management clip and other accessories have retaining formation corresponding in shape to the shape of a retaining formation of the accessory rail.
Adjustable height desk with acoustical dome
A novel workstation which incorporates an acoustical dome for increased acoustic and visual privacy for the user. The workstation further is adjustable in height such that it is able to accommodate a range of users from the 5.sup.th percentile seated female to the 95.sup.th percentile standing male according to the dictates of ANSI/HFES100-2007 national ergonomic standard. The workstation is further designed to be in electrical and data communication with other workstations to optimize the workstation density in an open working environment without compromising user privacy.
TABLE POWER MODULE DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A table system power module is provided. In some embodiments, an example table system includes a table top and a power module removably mounted to the table top. The power module includes a contact surface made from a relatively softer material.
LAY-FLAT LID WITH HIDDEN DUAL HINGE
A dual-hinged lid assembly includes a lid pivotably coupled to a frame by a pair of hinge portions that enable the lid to pivot about two different axes, and to pivot open until lying flat against, or in close proximity to, a portion of the frame to which the lid is coupled. A first hinge portion is pivotably coupled to the lid, and a second hinge portion is located at the frame and is coupled to the first hinge portion. The first hinge portion cooperates with the lid to define a first pivot axis, and the first hinge portion cooperates with the second hinge portion to define a second pivot axis that is spaced from the first pivot axis.
CANTILEVERED DESK AND COMPONENTS AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
A power grommet embedded in the worksurface includes a housing, at least a first and second outlet block disposed in the housing, and a lid pivotally connected to the housing. The lid is pivotable between an open position, wherein the first and second outlet blocks are exposed along a top of the housing, and a closed position, wherein the first outlet block is exposed along a top of the housing and the second outlet block is covered by the lid.
