The present invention provides oxalic amide ligands and uses thereof in copper-catalyzed coupling reaction of aryl halides. Specifically, the present invention provides a use of a compound represented by formula I, wherein definitions of each group are described in the specification. The compound represented by formula I can be used as a ligand in copper-catalyzed coupling reaction of aryl halides for the formation of CN, CO and CS bonds. ##STR00001##

An object of the present invention is to provide a compound (particularly, a liquid crystal compound having excellent light fastness) which has excellent light fastness and can be used for an optically anisotropic body, a reflective film obtained by immobilizing a cholesteric liquid crystalline phase, or the like.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a composition containing the above-mentioned compound (particularly, a liquid crystal compound having excellent light fastness); and a cured object, an optically anisotropic body, and a reflective film, which are obtained by curing the above-mentioned composition.

The present invention relates to compounds according to general formula (I) which are metabolically robust analogues of bioactive lipid mediators derived from omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs). The present invention further relates to compositions containing one or more of these compounds and to the use of these compounds or compositions for the treatment or prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Cell lines

There is provided inter alia a process for stabilizing a eukaryotic cell line which expresses PylRS and tRNAPyl and which is suitable for incorporation of a gene encoding a target protein containing one or more non-natural amino acids encoded by a nonsense codon which comprises culturing said cell line under conditions in which the adverse effect of tRNAPyl expression on cell viability and/or cell growth is reduced or eliminated.

Substituted amide compounds useful as farnesoid X receptor modulators
