A desktop work stand having a rectangular base, a lower rectangular shelf and an upper rectangular shelf both supported from the base by vertical cylindrical columns, with the rectangular base being adapted to sit on an existing desk, table, or counter top to enable the user to place existing computer accessories on the shelves and base and to operate such computer accessories while the user is standing upright.

A rack has a frame and a plurality of shelves. Each shelf has an enclosing frame member that has two first sides connected by two second sides, a connecting bar that connects the first sides at about the center of the first sides, a plurality of slots provided on the inner surfaces of the second sides, and a plurality of slats, each slat having opposing ends that are fitted into opposing slots at the second sides, and with each slat being connected to the connecting bar. At least one connector is provided for removably connecting each shelf to a portion of the frame.

Improved shelves are disclosed for shelving systems comprising one or more such improved shelves and support posts. Elongate elements along the underside of the shelves have post-receiving recesses to receive support posts along the underside of the shelf during storage and shipment. The improved shelves and shelving systems allow greater efficiency in packaging, shipping and storage.
