Oxidizing liquid media for chemical transformations

Provided is an oxidizing composition, in which a liquid medium is substantially inert in the presence of an oxidizing electrophile contained in the liquid medium. The composition comprises (a) an oxidizing electrophile comprising a main group element in oxidized form and at least one conjugate anion of an oxygen acid; (b) a non-oxidizable liquid selected from a fluorinated hydrocarbon, a sulfone, a deactivated arene, a deactivated aliphatic, a deactivated heteroarene, a deactivated heteroaliphatic, and a combination thereof; and (c) optionally one or more salt additives. Further provided are a method of using the oxidizing composition to oxidize a substrate and a method of generating and/or regenerating an oxidizing electrophile comprising a main group element.

ANTIFOULING OLIGOMERIZATION CATALYST SYSTEMS

A catalyst system that may reduce polymeric fouling may include at least one titanate compound, at least one aluminum compound, and an antifouling agent. The antifouling agent may be chosen from one or more of a phosphonium or phosphonium salt; a sulfonate or a sulfonate salt; a sulfonium or sulfonium salt; an ester including a cyclic moiety; an anhydride; a polyether; and a long-chained amine-capped compound. The catalyst system may further include a non-polymeric ether compound.

Catalyst composition and process for preparing linear alpha olefins

The present disclosure relates to a catalyst composition for the oligomerization of ethylene comprising a zirconium-containing catalyst and an organoaluminum-containing co-catalyst. The disclosure also relates to a process for oligomerization of ethylene in the presence of the catalyst composition according to the disclosure. The disclosed process results in C.sub.4-C.sub.20 linear alpha olefins having improved linearity.

Process for preparing methacrolein

Provided is a process for preparing dry methacrolein which maximizes capture of methanol. Also provided is a process for producing methyl methacrylate.

5G AVOIDANCE DURING LTE-BASED REAL-TIME COMMUNICATIONS

A radio access network (RAN) configured to support real-time communications over a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) connection is described herein. When a request for a data transmission is received and a real-time communication session over the LTE connection is established, the RAN utilizes the LTE connection, not a New Radio (NR) connection, for the data transmission. When a request for a further real-time communication is received and there is an active data transmission session over the NR connection, the RAN performs at least one of ceasing to allocate traffic to the NR connection for downlink or reconfiguring the data transmission session to send data over the LTE connection.

Oxidation of alkane to alkene

Provided is a process for converting an alkane to an alkene. The process comprises (a) contacting the alkane and either (i) an oxidizing electrophile comprising a main group element in oxidized form, or (ii) an oxidant and a reduced form of the oxidizing electrophile, in a liquid medium comprising an oxygen acid and optionally one or more additives selected from a non-oxidizable liquid, a salt additive, a Lewis acid, and water, to provide an oxidized intermediate and a reduced form of the oxidizing electrophile; (b) optionally separating the oxidized intermediate and the reduced form of the oxidizing electrophile; and (c) performing an elimination reaction on the oxidized intermediate to provide the alkene and the oxygen acid.

Oxidative dehydroxymethylation of alcohols to produce olefins

Catalyst compositions for the conversion of aldehyde compounds and primary alcohol compounds to olefins are disclosed herein. Reactions include oxidative dehydroxymethylation processes and oxidative dehydroformylation methods, which are beneficially conducted in the presence of a sacrificial acceptor of H.sub.2 gas, such as N,N-dimethylacrylamide.
