The method also includes a step of adhering at least one preformed angled edge member including the curved edge profile into the cutout section of the countertop to form at least one angled corner, thereby forming a laminate countertop having an edge profile extending around the at least one angled corner.

A cover provides access to the electrical component and includes a cover plate, a cavity for housing an electrical component, and a snap-engagement latch for selectively latching the electrical component outward of the cover plate or inward within the electrical box enclosure. Installation time and effort are minimized as site preparation requires only a single hole that may be made with a standard size hole-saw.

The concealed bridge assembly can be used for traditional raised mounting of cooktop units or true-flush mounting of cooktop units. When used with traditional mountings, the concealed bridge assembly has a top that is sized to be flush with the countertop surface and the approximate length of the countertop opening. If true-flush mounting is desired, the top of the concealed bridge assembly is flush with the top surface of a kerf cut in the countertop.

The shape of the extensions, when configured in the upward position, safely moves school-age children away from the potentially dangerous heating unit and other equipment that may pose harm if within reach of the children.
