This present disclosure is directed to compounds of formula (I): ##STR00001## where R.sup.1a, R.sup.1b, R.sup.1c, R.sup.1d, R.sup.1e, R.sup.3, R.sup.4a, R.sup.4b, R.sup.4c, R.sup.4d, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, and R.sup.8 are described herein, as single stereoisomers or as mixtures of stereoisomers, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, clathrates, polymorphs, ammonium ions, N-oxides or prodrugs thereof; which are leukotriene A.sub.4 hydrolase inhibitors and therefore useful in treating inflammatory disorders. Pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds described herein and methods of preparing the compounds described herein are also provided.
