Electrolyte additive and electrolyte for lithium secondary battery including the same
An electrolyte additive composition of the present invention may improve high-rate charge and discharge characteristics and high-temperature storage and life characteristics of a lithium secondary battery when the electrolyte additive composition is used in an electrolyte while including a novel borate-based lithium compound as well as a nitrile-based compound.
Photoswitchable HDAC inhibitors
This invention relates to photoswitchable inhibitors of histone deacetylases and methods of using the same.
Biodegradable lipids for the delivery of active agents
The present invention relates to a cationic lipid having one or more biodegradable groups located in a lipidic moiety (e.g., a hydrophobic chain) of the cationic lipid. These cationic lipids may be incorporated into a lipid particle for delivering an active agent, such as a nucleic acid. The invention also relates to lipid particles comprising a neutral lipid, a lipid capable of reducing aggregation, a cationic lipid of the present invention, and optionally, a sterol. The lipid particle may further include a therapeutic agent such as a nucleic acid.
Battery pack, power tool and battery pack charger system
When providing alternating current (AC) power to operate AC powered devices such as power tools (such as drills, table saws, miter saws), equipment (such as lawn mowers), and consumer products (such as refrigerators, television, lights) without being tied to a fixed utility power supply typically requires a generator (such as an internal combustion engine based generator) or a battery powered inverter. In order to meet power and runtime needs for these devices, a battery powered inverter must be relatively large and expensive. This simple fact prohibits their use in many environments.
Fluorescent compounds specific for pluripotent stem cells and reprogramming-ready cells and methods of using the same
The present invention provides fluorescent compounds of formula (I) as disclosed herein or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Further provided are uses of said fluorescent compounds in methods of determining, in a sample, the presence and/or amount of pluripotent stem cells or cells undergoing reprogramming to become induced pluripotent stem cells. ##STR00001##
Fluoro-boron pyrrole liquid crystal compounds containing 8-(bisphenylethynyl)-ester group flexible multiple ring, preparation method and use thereof
A series of 8-(bisphenylethynyl)-ester flexible multiple ring-containing fluoroboron pyrrole liquid crystal dyes are synthesized by introducing a diphenylethynyl rigid structure at position 8 of a boron-dipyrromethene core via a Sonogashira coupling reaction, and a flexible multiple ring such as bicyclohexane, or cholesterol is connected to the biphenylethynyl via an esterification reaction. The dye compounds all have maximum emission wavelengths in methylene chloride concentrated around 525 nm, present green fluorescence, and show good dichroic colour ratios and ordered parameters in E7 liquid crystal. The liquid crystal compounds are in a liquid crystal intermediate phase within the range of 100-280° C., and may be used for manufacturing liquid crystal display products, especially as guest dyes for guest-host mode liquid crystal displays. The response time can be improved and a rapid response effect achieved when the compounds are added to E7 liquid crystal and used for a guest-host display mode.
PH-REVERSIBLE LEUCO-BODIPY PROBE FOR IN SITU VISUALIZATION OF EXTRACELLULAR VESICLES AND THEIR SECRETION FROM LIVING CELLS
The subject invention pertains to compositions of a probe comprising two pH-reversible forms, including the boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) fluorescent form and the non-fluorescent leuco-BODIPY form, for use in confocal imaging methods of intracellular vesicles as well as extracellular vesicles that are present in conditioned culture medium and/or secreted by living cells, without inducing severe cytotoxicity.
