NEW METAL N-AMINOGUANIDINATE COMPLEXES FOR USE IN THIN FILM FABRICATION AND CATALYSIS

The present patent application relates to new metal complexes having at least one N-aminoguanidinate ligand. The patent application further relates to the preparation of the new metal complexes and also to their use. The new metal complexes are especially suitable as precursors for the preparation of functional layers by means of gas-phase thin-film processes such as CVD, MO-CVD, MOVPE and ALD. Additionally, they are also suitable as catalysts for olefin hydroamination and for olefm polymerization.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REGIOSELECTIVE CARBONYLATION OF 2,2-DISUBSTITUTED EPOXIDES
20210403445 · 2021-12-30 ·

Provided are methods of carbonylating cyclic substrates to produce carbonylated cyclic products. The cyclic substrates may be 2, 2-di substituted epoxides and the cyclic products may be β,β-di substituted lactones. The method may be carried out by forming and pressurizing a reaction mixture of the cyclic substrate, a solvent, carbon monoxide, and a [LA.sup.+][CO(CO)4.sup.−] catalyst, where [LA.sup.+] is a Lewis acid capable of coordinating to the cyclic substrate. The method may proceed with a regio selectivity of 90:10 or greater. The resulting carbonylated cyclic products may be converted to ketone aldol products that retain the stereochemistry and enantiomeric ratio of the carbonylated cyclic products.

CATALYST COMPOSITION

Compounds can be used as catalysts, particularly in ring-opening polymerization reactions, including ring-opening co-polymerization (ROCOP) reactions, or in isocyanate trimerization reactions. The compounds have the formula L-M-X.sub.n, where L is a pyridyl-bis(iminophenolate) ligand, M is a metal ion, X is a co-ligand to balance the charge of the compound, and n is an integer from 0 to 7. The compounds can be prepared by base condensation of a pyridyl-diamine compound with an aldehyde or ketone.

A spiky metal organic framework is provided in the present disclosure. The spiky metal organic framework is formed by a coordination reaction between at least one metal ion and an organic ligand, and includes a body and a plurality of spike-like structures. The body is a spherical shape, and a particle size of the body is 1 μm to 3 μm. The spike-like structures are distributed on a surface of the body, a diameter of each spike-like structure is 15 nm to 35 nm, and a length of each spike-like structure is 250 nm to 400 nm.

Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions comprising a soluble photoacid generator, a organopalladium compound, a photosensitizer and one or more olefinic monomers which undergo vinyl addition polymerization when said composition is exposed to a suitable actinic radiation to form a substantially transparent film. The monomers employed therein have a range of optical and mechanical properties, and thus these compositions can be tailored to form films having various opto-electronic properties. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful in various applications, including as coatings, encapsulants, fillers, leveling agents, among others.

Coordinative alignment of molecules in chiral metal-organic frameworks

Coordinative alignment uses x-ray diffraction to precisely and unambiguously determine the structure of molecules bound or crystallized within chiral metal organic frameworks.

Auxiliaries for olefin polymerization process

A method of forming polymerization auxiliaries for a polymerization process may include combining an antifouling agent with a killer agent to form an auxiliary composition; and contacting the auxiliary composition with an alkylaluminum. An antifouling complex may be produced by combining an antifouling agent with a killer agent to form an auxiliary composition; and contacting the auxiliary composition with an alkylaluminum.

Low temperature process for the synthesis of MOF carboxylate nanoparticles

The present invention relates to low temperature process for preparing nanoparticles of porous crystalline Fe-, Al- or Ti-based MOF carboxylate materials with low polydispersity index, and uses thereof, particularly as catalyst support for carrying out heterogeneously catalyzed chemical reactions, or as gas storage/separation/purification material, or as matrix for encapsulating active principles (medicine, cosmetics).

Formation and modifications of ceramic nanowires and their use in functional materials

A catalyst-free synthesis method for the formation of a metalorganic compound comprising a desired (first) metal may include, for example, selecting another (second) metal and an organic solvent, with the second metal being selected to (i) be more reactive with respect to the organic solvent than the first metal and (ii) form, upon exposure of the second metal to the organic solvent, a reaction by-product that is more soluble in the organic solvent than the metalorganic compound. An alloy comprising the first metal and the second metal may be first produced (e.g., formed or otherwise obtained) and then treated with the organic solvent in a liquid phase or a vapor phase to form a mixture comprising (i) the reaction by-product comprising the second metal and (ii) the metalorganic compound comprising the first metal. The metalorganic compound may then be separated from the mixture in the form of a solid.
