ORGANOMETALLIC COMPOUND, LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE INCLUDING SAME, AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS INCLUDING THE LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE
Provided is an organometallic compound, a light-emitting device including the same, and an electronic apparatus including the light-emitting device. The light-emitting device includes: a first electrode; a second electrode facing the first electrode; and an interlayer between the first electrode and the second electrode and including an emission layer, wherein the light-emitting device includes at least one organometallic compound represented by Formula 1.
NON-PLANAR BLUE PHOSPHORESCENT EMITTERS BASED ON FUNCTIONALIZED IMIDAZOLYL GROUP
Compounds of General formula I and General Formula II have substituents which may result in a non-planar configuration. This molecular geometry may be effective in reducing excimer formation. The compounds described herein may therefore have improved blue color purity. The compounds have utility in light emitting diodes and light emitting devices.

In Formula I and Formula II, moieties A, B, and C are independently rings or a fused-ring systems; each of X.sup.1, X.sup.2, Z.sup.1, Z.sup.2, X.sup.3, and Z.sup.4 is C or N; K a direct bond or selected from the group consisting of O, S, N(R.sup.α), P(R.sup.α), B(R.sup.α), C(R.sup.α)(R.sup.β), and Si(R.sup.α)(R.sup.β); L is a linker; n is 1, 2, or 3; each R, R′, R.sup.α, R.sup.β, R.sup.A, R.sup.B, R.sup.C, R.sup.L, and R.sup.L′ is independently hydrogen or a General Substituent; and at least one R or R′ is a fully or partially fluorinated alkyl group, a fully or partially fluorinated cycloalkyl group, a cyano group, a cyanoalkyl group, or a silyl group. Selective cyclocarbonylative coupling of 2-iodophenols with terminal alkynes catalyzed by bridged bis(NHC)Pd(II)Br.SUB.2 .catalysts
Palladium catalysts, methods of synthesizing palladium-carbene catalysts, and methods of producing chromones and aurones using palladium-N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysts are provided. In some implementations, the palladium catalysts include a bridged palladium catalyst with distorted square planar geometry around the center palladium atom. The catalysts can be used in cyclocarbonylative Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions to produce chromones and aurones at a high yield. The selectivity of the catalysts can be adjusted by adjusting reaction conditions.

SYNTHESES OF N-HETEROCYCLIC CARBENES AND INTERMEDIATES THEREFOR
A method of preparing a 2,6 disubstituted anilines includes, reacting a 2-amino isophthalic acid diester with sufficient Grignard reagent R.sub.2CH.sub.2MgX to form the corresponding diol product, dehydrating the diol product to the corresponding dialkene; and hydrogenating the diol product to form the corresponding aniline. The 2,6 disubstituted anilines can be used to produce N-Heterocyclic Carbenes (NHCs). The NHCs can find application in various fields such as organic synthesis, catalysis and macromolecular chemistry. Palladium catalysts containing the NHCs are also described.

The first compound may be an organometallic compound that acts as a phosphorescent dopant, and the second and third compounds may form an exciplex. CROSS-COUPLING REACTION CATALYST
It is an object of the present invention to provide a catalyst for a cross-coupling reaction in which an organometallic complex is sufficiently immobilized on a carrier and an object product can be easily obtained. The catalyst for a cross-coupling reaction of the present invention has a carrier part composed of a synthetic resin and an organometallic complex part immobilized on the carrier part by chemical bonding, and has a structure represented by formula (P1), wherein in (P1) R.sup.1, R.sup.2 may be the same or different, and is a substituent such as a hydrogen atom. R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.8, R.sup.9 may be the same or different and are substituents, such as a hydrogen. X represents a halogen atom, and R.sup.7 represents a substituent having 3 to 20 carbon atoms with a π bond. RS1 represents the main chain of the synthetic resin precursors having —CH.sub.2OH group at their end.

Y.sup.1 and Y.sup.2 are each independently O, S, Se, CRR′, SiRR′, or GeRR′; each R.sup.A, R.sup.B, R.sup.C, R, and R′ is a hydrogen or a substituent; and any two substituents may be joined or fused together to form a ring. In the compound, L.sub.A is complexed to a metal M by the dashed lines in Formula I to form a five-membered chelate ring, and M has an atomic weight greater than 40. Organic light emitting devices and consumer products containing the compounds are also disclosed.
