Anti-microbial polymer compositions, fibers, and yarns
The present disclosure relates the polymer compositions, fibers, and yarns having near-permanent antimicrobial activity, and a method of producing the same. In one embodiment, the antimicrobial polymer composition from 50 wt % to 99.9 wt % of a polymer, from 5 wppm to 1000 wppm of zinc, and from 0.005 wt % to 1 wt % of phosphorus, wherein fibers formed from the polymer composition demonstrate a zinc retention rate of greater than 20% when tested in a dye bath test.
PHOSPHINE FOR FUMIGATION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND FUMIGATION METHOD
The present invention addresses the problem of providing phosphine for fumigation, by which clogging of a pipe of a fumigation gas feed device due to impurities is effectively suppressed and which has low spontaneous ignitability. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a phosphine fumigation method in which clogging of a pipe of a fumigation gas feed device and a possibility of spontaneous ignition are reduced and which is safe. The phosphine for fumigation of the present invention has a P.sub.4 content of 10 mass ppm or less and a water content of 10 mass ppm or less. The fumigation method of the present invention includes fumigating a material to be fumigated, using phosphine having a P.sub.4 content of 10 mass ppm or less and having a water content of 10 mass ppm or less.

Composite Pesticide Plugs and Related Methods
The disclosure relates to composite pesticide plugs for delivery of one or more plant protection materials to internal tree tissue of, for example, fruit trees. The composite pesticide plugs generally include a thermoplastic matrix including a low-temperature processable thermoplastic polymer such as polyvinyl acetate, a cellulosic reinforcement, and a plant protection material. The disclosure also relates to methods of preparing the composite pesticide plugs, and methods for delivering a plant protection material to trees. After injection into the tree trunk, the composite pesticide plug can provide a uniform, relatively consistent dose of plant protection material (e.g., pesticides, biopesticides, etc.) to all parts of the tree throughout the growing season, thus reducing waste of material and cost.
