An embodiment provides a method for detection of viral antigen for the COVID-19 virus, including: obtaining a body fluid from a patient; introducing the body fluid to at least one binding antibody, wherein the at least one binding antibody binds to an antigen of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein and comprises an indicator; forming a viral antigen—antibody complex; and determining the presence of the viral antigen—antibody complex.
