ANTIBODY AND ANTIBODY-CONTAINING COMPOSITION
For many diseases due to microbes or the like, proliferation of microbes themselves is a cause of a symptom. However, there were cases where a substance released by the microbes is a cause of a symptom. In such cases, when attempting to treat a disease with an antibody, it was necessary to obtain an antibody against an antigen that is a substance causing the disease. However, it was difficult to find the underlying substance causing the disease among substances released by the microbes. An antibody (polyclonal) binding to not only an antigen but also to a substance, which is secreted by the antigen and accelerates the deterioration of a symptom, is obtained by immunizing birds with a lysis solution produced from lysing microbial cells as an antigen. Further, an antibody obtained with a surface protein of a virus as an antigen is expected to inhibit an infection by a virus.
GENETICALLY-MODIFIED POULTRY EGG
Provided are a poultry knock-in egg and knock-out egg. The present invention pertains to a knock-out poultry egg in which at least one oviduct-specific gene has been knocked out, said gene being selected from the group consisting of ovalbumin, ovomucoid, ovomucin, ovotransferrin, ovoinhibitor, and lysozyme, and at least one egg allergen protein has been reduced or eliminated, said protein being selected from the group consisting of ovalbumin, ovomucoid, ovomucin, ovotransferrin, ovoinhibitor, and lysozyme.
Use of Polyclonal Antibodies Against Clostridium Difficile for Treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease
The present invention provides a polyclonal antibody composition prepared from eggs of hens immunized with virulent antigens of Clostridium difficile for use in the treatment and prevention of C. difficile infections in subjects with Inflammatory Bowel Disease including Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Respective groups of hens are immunized with Toxin A or Toxin B of Clostridium difficile or a Clostridium difficile spore preparation. The polyclonal antibodies are recovered from eggs pooled from the immunized hens and the resulting antibody-egg powder is administered orally in a therapeutically effective amount to individuals infected with or suspected of being infected with C. difficile.

ANTIBODIES TO CHITINASE 3-LIKE-1 AND METHODS OF USE THEREFOR
Provided herein are antibodies binding to CHI3L1 and the uses of the antibodies in detecting and treating cancer and for treating hepatotoxicity.
ANTIBODY AGAINST ALOPECIA-INDUCING SUBSTANCE AS ANTIGEN, COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION METHOD
Causes of hair loss have not been completely clarified and still remain unknown in many points. However, it appears that hair loss is partly caused by a mechanism wherein androgenic hormones in the scalp become active via the activation of DHT hormone by 5-reductase and thus the activity of cells in hair roots is lost. In the present invention, an antibody, said antibody being obtained by inoculating a female bird with 5-reductase or DHT as an antigen, is administered to the scalp so that the activity of DHT is suppressed and the activity of cells in hair roots is elevated. This antibody can be used in the form of a composition together with other component (s), for example, as a hair tonic together with another hair growth promoter.
Method for manufacturing digestive enzyme antibody and egg having same, and for manufacturing processed product containing egg as ingredient thereof and composition including antibody
There are many reports of diseases caused by overeating, satiation, and an unbalanced diet, and various therapeutic methods and therapeutic drugs are proposed for said diseases. There have not been many proposals, for prevention of these diseases, of methods by which what is eaten is not readily absorbed in vivo. The present invention involves inoculating female birds with a digestive enzyme as an antigen, said digestive enzyme being present in vivo. As a result of inhibiting the activity of the digestive enzyme by using an antibody which has been produced in vivo in the birds, the present invention inhibits decomposition of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates and reduces in vivo absorption. This type of antibody can be obtained from an egg laid by a female bird which has received the antigen, and furthermore the egg itself includes the antibody. Consequently, a food product that contains, as an ingredient thereof, eggs having this type of antibody is low in proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. Furthermore, by ingesting the antibody obtained from the eggs, the absorption of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates can be decreased.
HYPERIMMUNIZED EGG PRODUCT FOR TREATMENT OF NECROTIC ENTERITIS IN POULTRY
In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a method for preventing or treating necrotic enteritis by administering a hyperimmunized egg product obtained from an egg-producing animal to an avian. The hyperimmunized egg product may contain an antibody specific to an antigen selected from the group consisting of Clostridium perfringens -toxin, Clostridium perfringens elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu), Clostridium perfringens necrotic enteritis B-like (NetB) toxin, Clostridium perfringens Pyruvate: Ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PFO), and Eimeria tenella elongation factor 1-alpha.
Interleukin-10 peptides and antibodies thereof for inhibiting adverse effects of protozoan infection
The present disclosure is directed to interleukin-10 (IL-10) peptides and isolated antibodies that specifically bind to the IL-10 peptides. The IL-10 peptides and the isolated antibodies may be administered alone or as an animal feed additive to treat gastrointestinal protozoan infection in animals.
THERAPY FOR ENTERIC INFECTIONS
A method and composition for treating enteric pathogen infections in animals suffering from such infections or displaying diseases or conditions consistent with such infections or for preventing or reducing the likelihood of enteric pathogen infections in animals at risk for developing such infections.
