Movable shelf can be moved between an extended and a retracted position Support surface can include a front portion and a rear portion. Front portion is positioned at a first guide angle and rear portion is positioned at a second guide angle. Movable shelf includes a front boss and a rear boss on opposite sides of the movable shelf. Front and rear bosses are received within the guide and are slidably supported by the support surface. Shelf assembly includes a striker extending from the bottom of the movable shelf and a soft close mechanism. Soft close mechanism is configured to engage the striker when rear boss contacts the rear portion of the support surface.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RETROFITTING CABINETS WITH A RETRACTABLE SHELF TO ACCOMMODATE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY
The invention involves a system and method for retrofitting a cabinet to accommodate wheelchair accessibility, which employs a retractable shelf configured to expand and retract for concealing and revealing a wheelchair accessible space. In exemplary embodiments, the retractable shelf is situated between the left panel and the right panel and in proximity to a floor space of the cabinet, wherein the retractable shelf is configured to retract and expand to reveal or conceal the wheelchair accessible space. The retractable shelf may include a plurality of panels hingedly coupled together, such as a posterior panel and an anterior panel, some of the panels configured to fold, such that at least one of the plurality of panels folds on top of the posterior panel in order to reveal or conceal the wheelchair accessible space. The invention allows retrofitting of any type of cabinet for wheelchair accessibility.
Rack system
A rack system includes a rack, a chassis, and a slide rail assembly. One lateral side of the chassis is provided with a fixing member. The slide rail assembly is mounted on the rack and includes a guide rail having a first segment, a second segment, and a third segment. The first segment is configured for supporting a portion of the chassis. A passage is defined between the second segment and the third segment to allow passage of the fixing member of the chassis.
Household appliance, in particular a refrigerator or a freezer or a furniture item comprising at least one shelf
A household appliance, in particular a refrigerator or a freezer or a furniture item comprising at least one storage space, in which a support plate is positioned comprising a storage area and a shelf which can be rotationally and translationally moved on the storage area of the support plate, wherein: the shelf comprises a flat storage area which is oriented plane-parallel to the storage area of the support element; the shelf can be rotated relative to the support plate in a first rotational direction and can be displaced in a predefined direction; mutually facing bearing surfaces of the storage areas each have closed peripheral raceway grooves in which rolling elements are guided; the raceway grooves are formed such that, when a force is applied to the shelf in a direction defined in the plane of the storage area, the shelf can be moved, in a movement which is at least partially forcibly guided and which is simultaneously rotational and translational, from a base position into an intermediary position, the shelf being rotated relative to the support plate in one of two possible opposing rotational directions and being displaced in a predefined direction; and the shelf, after being moved into the intermediary position, can be further rotated relative to the support plate in the one of two possible opposing rotational directions and can be displaced counter to the predefined direction and, when rotated by 180°, resumes the base position.
STORAGE SHELF BASE FOR A PIECE OF FURNITURE OR HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE
A storage shelf base for an item of furniture or household appliance has a support plate stationarily arranged on a body of the item of furniture or household appliance, and a storage shelf which is positively driven relative to the support plate and can simultaneously be moved rotationally and translationally. Facing bearing surfaces of the support plate and the storage shelf have respective at least substantially closed circulating running grooves, in which rolling elements are guided. The support plate can be detachably secured to the body of the item of furniture or household appliance. At least one securing region for detachably securing the support plate to the body of the item of furniture or household appliance is formed on the support plate and the storage shelf can be secured to the support plate without the use of tools.
Device for rotationally and translationally moving an object
A device for rotationally and translationally moving an object comprising a flat storage area relative to a storage area of a support plate arranged plane-parallel to the storage area, wherein: the object can be rotated relative to the support plate in one of two possible opposing rotational directions and can be displaced in a predefined direction; mutually facing bearing surfaces of the storage areas each have closed peripheral raceway grooves in which rolling elements are guided; the raceway grooves are formed such that, when a force is applied to the object in a direction defined in the plane of the storage area, the object can be moved, in a movement which is at least partially forcibly guided and which is simultaneously rotational and translational, from a starting position into an intermediary position, the object being rotated relative to the support plate in one of two possible opposing rotational directions and being displaced in a predefined direction; and the object, after being moved into the intermediary position, can further be rotated relative to the support plate in the one of two possible opposing rotational directions and can be displaced counter to the predefined direction, and, when rotated by 180°, resumes the base position.
Refrigerator shelving frame with snap-in sliding insert
A refrigerator shelf assembly includes a frame having a depth and a first support element extending along the depth and defining a first track open in a lateral direction perpendicular to the depth. The support element further defines a first open area along a first side of the track and extending between an adjacent portion of the track and an exterior of the first support element and a cantilever arm having a free end adjacent the first open area. The cantilever arm is resiliently deformable away from a plane defined along the first side of the track. The assembly further includes an insert slidably received within the track and moveable along the depth of the first track through a fixed range of motion, wherein the insert is disposed over an expanse of the first open area.
Systems and Methods Related to Storage Racks
Systems and methods directed to shelving systems include a frame and one or more translatable shelves. The shelves are supported on rails and are horizontally translatable from a rearward position to a forward position. When adjacent shelves are respectively most rearward and most forward, certain shelf and frame structural cooperation enhance shelf access and shelf removability. Provided a single shelving kit, certain shelf configuration may be customized for particular end uses.
