The supporting arm for a storage rack of the invention has a simple structure and strong practicability. The mounting bracket assembly may include first and second shelf engaging portions that have mounting apertures therethrough. Wall fasteners may extend through the mounting apertures of the first and second shelf engaging portions to mount the mounting bracket assembly to the wall. The portions of the first and second shelf fasteners which protrude from the rear edge of the shelf may be inserted into the mounting apertures of the first and second shelf engaging portions of the mounting bracket assembly to couple the shelf to the mounting bracket assembly.

Reciprocal retention elements, provided between the pin and the actuation and blocking group, withhold the pin in the hole of the shelf housing the pin.
