A joining device between components of an item of furniture, including a casing having a first and a second radially expandable portion for engaging the components of the item of furniture, a tie-rod housed inside the casing and axially slidable, and a cam element housed in said casing for axially displacing the tie-rod from the rest position to the locking position and vice-versa. According to the present invention, the cam element has a lobe along its outer periphery which has a forward profile having a predefined extension about the axis of rotation such as to perform, alone, the displacement of the tie-rod with respect to the casing from the rest position to the locking position so as to actuate the expansion of both portions with a single movement according to a forward rotation direction of the cam element and any return through a movement according to a return rotation direction.

A cavity formed in a shelf can receive at least one bracket including at least one locking member. A locking member can engage an interior of the cavity. A shelf unit can be assembled by fastening a bracket to a substrate, inserting the bracket into an opening to the cavity, engaging the locking member with an interior surface of the cavity, and allowing the shelf to rest on the body of the bracket. The shelf can be removed from the bracket by disengaging the locking member from the interior of the cavity.

A cavity formed in a shelf can receive at least one bracket including at least one locking member. A locking member can engage an interior of the cavity. A shelf unit can be assembled by fastening a bracket to a substrate, inserting the bracket into an opening to the cavity, engaging the locking member with an interior surface of the cavity, and allowing the shelf to rest on the body of the bracket. The shelf can be removed from the bracket by disengaging the locking member from the interior of the cavity.

A modular shelving system with a series of shelves, shelf-support brackets, bracket attachment disks, and hinge-pins. The support brackets are hingable. The support disks each include a series of radially disposed apertures and additional apertures for allowing the disk to be fastened to a wall or stud. The shelf support brackets include shelf-receiving slots and a post extending from the bracket that can be inserted into one of the radially disposed apertures. The hinge-pin is threaded to be screwed into the bracket-receiving disks. The shelves are inserted into the shelf-receiving slots in the shelf-support brackets to create a custom climbing shelf design for climbing animals such as cats.

A bracket for a floating shelf comprises rods secured to and extending from a solid plate to be secured to a wall. Interleaved arrays of countersunk bores and slots extend through the solid plate and arranged to extend laterally from one lateral side of the solid plate to an opposite lateral side of the solid plate. An array of webs in the plate is interleaved between the arrays of bores and slots. Each web has a lateral width less than or equal to inch so that fastener inserted through the bores and slots can always find a stud. The plate has a perimeter and at least one cutout at a lateral end sized to receive a tool to separate the bracket from the shelf.

A bracket for a floating shelf comprises a solid plate with a planar back side to abut to a wall. A plurality of circular apertures extends through the solid plate. A plurality of rods is secured to the solid plate and extend therefrom, with each rod having a proximal end received within a different one of the plurality of circular apertures. The proximal ends of the plurality of rods are flush with the planar back side of the solid plate and the wall. An array of counterbore slots or bores with enlarged openings extend through the solid plate and is arranged in series and extend laterally from one lateral side of the solid plate to an opposite lateral side of the solid plate.

A wall-mountable accessory such as one which is intended for hanging in a bathroom. The wall-mountable accessory may be a robe hook, a towel bar, a grab bar, a toilet paper holder, a ledge, or the like. The wall-mountable accessory may include a solid body that is at least partially formed from a brittle material. The solid body may have a hole that extends to an opening in its outer surface. The wall-mountable accessory may also include a mounting assembly for mounting the solid body to a wall. The mounting assembly may include a standoff configured to be coupled to the wall and a fastening pin that is coupled to the standoff and has a portion that nests within the hole in the solid body. The mounting assembly may apply a compressive force onto the solid body to prevent fracture.

A device for supporting and removably fixing shelves of furniture, such as bookcases, shelf units and the like, by a pin associated with a shelf and configured to be inserted in a hole formed in a side wall of a furniture item. The device is configured to be inserted in the thickness of the shelf and has a casing, inside whereof the pin is mounted, ending with a head, which is stressed by a compression spring, to protrude normally from the edge of the shelf. The casing has a substantially flattened parallelepiped shape and said pin is mounted so as to be able to retract completely in the casing with a linear movement following a force exerted axially on the same, and to be able to retract at last partially in the casing with an oblique movement following a transverse force exerted on the same.

A wall-mounted shelf attachable to a vertical surface (14), the wall-mounted shelf (1) including a shelf body (1) including a flat top shelf surface (10a) and a loudspeaker (2) including at least one loudspeaker element (12) and being arranged below the top shelf surface (10a). The wall-mounted shelf (1) further includes a mounting assembly (3), wherein the mounting assembly (3) includes a bracket (3) attachable to the vertical surface (14) and having a connection (5) for connecting the bracket (3) to the shelf body (1).

A fastening element (20) is provided for use with a tightening element (14) in a device for forming a joint between two panels (18,22). The fastening element is elongate and has a head (13) at one end for engaging the tightening element, an expander (15) at the other end and a shank (11) extending there between. The fastening element further comprises a sleeve (10) having an expandable section (16) at one end extending over the expander, with the expander operatively engaging the sleeve to cause outward movement of its expandable section upon axial displacement of the fastening element relative to the sleeve. The sleeve is provided with at least one outwardly facing cutting edge (19) on its expandable section. The cutting edge has sufficient strength to cut into the panel material in use of the device, when the expandable section is inserted into a face hole in a first one of the panels.
