RADICAL POLYMERIZATION CONTROL AGENT AND RADICAL POLYMERIZATION CONTROL METHOD
20210122692 · 2021-04-29 · ·

A conventional polymerization inhibitor is for example an agent to scavenge radicals generated during storage of a radical polymerizable compound and used to stably handle the radical polymerizable compound, but is unnecessary when the radical polymerizable compound is to be subjected to radical polymerization reaction, and is preferably removed at the time of the radical polymerization reaction. The object of the present invention is to obviate inconvenience of removing the polymerization inhibitor at the time of radical polymerization.

The radical polymerization control agent contained in a radical polymerizable composition of the present invention functions as a radical polymerization inhibitor for example stored in a dark place, but loses its radical polymerization inhibiting effect when polymerization is initiated while being irradiated with light at a certain specific wavelength at the time of polymerization. Thus, radical polymerization of the radical polymerizable compound is easily initiated without increasing the amount of a radical polymerization initiator. That is, the radical polymerization control agent of the present invention is a radical polymerization control agent which is a corn pound having an effect to inhibit radical polymerization of a radical polymerizable compound and which loses the radical polymerization inhibiting effect under irradiation with light rays containing light within a wavelength range of from 300 nm to 500 nm.

QUINONE METHIDE AND AMMONIUM SALT ANTIPOLYMERANT COMPOSITION AND METHOD
20210108141 · 2021-04-15 ·

Described are compositions and methods for inhibiting polymerization of a monomer (e.g., styrene) composition a quinone methide polymerization retarder and an ammonium salt. In a mixture, the ammonium salt improves the efficacy of the quinone methide polymerization retarder and provides greater antipolymerant activity. In turn, the mixture reduces or prevents apparatus fouling and improves the purity of monomer streams.

Composition of polyethylene glycol maleimide derivative and polymerization inhibitor

The present invention provides a composition of a polyethylene glycol maleimide derivative and a polymerization inhibitor. In particular, the present invention provides a composition of an 8-arm polyethylene glycol maleimide derivative and a phenolic polymerization inhibitor. The ingredient and content of the polymerization inhibitor in the composition are reasonably chosen, thereby significantly increasing stability of the polyethylene glycol maleimide derivative, effectively avoiding the undesirable effect of gel solidifying due to polymerization during storage and transportation, and extending a pot life and shelf life of a product thereof.

POLYMERIZATION INHIBITOR FOR N-VINYL PYRROLIDONE MONOMER AND USE THEREOF

Disclosed is a polymerization inhibitor of N-vinyl pyrrolidone monomers and use thereof. The polymerization inhibitor is selected from an inorganic weak acid potassium salt and/or an organic acid potassium salt. The polymerization inhibitor is added to N-vinyl pyrrolidone monomers, and is sealed and preserved under the protection of inert gas, wherein the addition amount of the polymerization inhibitor is 0.005-0.2% by mass with respect to the mass of the N-vinyl pyrrolidone monomers. Directly adding the polymerization inhibitor into the N-vinyl pyrrolidone monomers in proportion can inhibit the self-polymerization of the N-vinyl pyrrolidone monomers, and hence extend the shelf life. The chromaticity and toxicity of the monomers can be reduced to a great extent. The polymerization inhibitor can be used directly during solution polymerization without being removed, and does not affect the chromaticity of a polymerization solution.
