RADIATION CURABLE PRIMER ADHESIVE
20220041892 · 2022-02-10 ·

The present invention involves a 100% solids, radiation curable adhesive formulation for adhesion to EVA. This formulation may have varying compositions, as discussed in detail herein. However primarily the composition may comprise at least a monomer, and a chlorinated additive. Photo initiators may be used to allow for low temperature UV or other radiation curing. Other additives may be used to enhance functional features in various ways. In use, the present invention may be coated on a surface of EVA and then cured, and may be adhered to a substrate using only a layer of adhesive on the substrate, in contrast to the structures of the prior art, which require at least two sided adhesive application, among other complexities.

Process for cross-linked polyethylene production

A method of producing a silane cross-linked polyethylene is disclosed which includes maleating a polyethylene polymer to form a maleated polyethylene and reacting the maleated polyethylene with a primary or secondary amino silane to form a silane-grafted polyethylene. The method further includes treating the silane-grafted polyethylene in a moisture curing process to form the silane cross-linked polyethylene.

Aqueous resin dispersion

The invention provides an aqueous resin dispersion which can form a coating film excellent in adhesion to a polypropylene base material, and water resistance, and has excellent particle stability. Specifically, it provides an aqueous resin dispersion in which an olefin polymer (A), and a polymer (C) containing a constituent unit derived from a radically polymerizable monomer (B) represented by the following general formula (1) are dispersed in an aqueous medium. (In the general formula (1), R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and X is a straight chain or branched alkylene group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms; and n is an integer of 1 to 20.)

Cyanoacrylate compositions

This invention relates to cyanoacrylate-containing compositions that include (a) a beta-alkoxy cyanoacrylate component, (b) a cyanoacrylate component selected from butyl cyanoacrylates, octyl cyanoacrylates, and combinations thereof; (c) a rubber toughening component (d) a surface modified component; and (e) an adhesion promoter. Cured products of the inventive cyanoacrylate compositions demonstrate improved toughness without an odor typically found with cyanoacrylate-containing compositions.
