Further, a molded object thereof and a production method therefor are provided.

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition comprising a long chain branched polymer having high melt strength. The process for preparing the corresponding polypropylene having composition is provided comprising blending a propylene base polymer with a unsaturated polyfunctional poly(alkylsiloxane), a polyfunctional acrylate coagent, an initiator, additives such as stabilizer, acid neutralizer and antioxidants, and reactive extruding the blend to form a branched polymer composition bridged by siloxane units.

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition comprising a long chain branched polymer having high melt strength. The process for preparing the corresponding polypropylene having composition is provided comprising blending a propylene base polymer with a unsaturated polyfunctional poly(alkylsiloxane), a polyfunctional acrylate coagent, an initiator, additives such as stabilizer, acid neutralizer and antioxidants, and reactive extruding the blend to form a branched polymer composition bridged by siloxane units.

A thermoplastic resin composition comprising: a graft copolymer (A) obtained by polymerizing a vinyl monomer mixture (m1) in the presence of a specific alkyl (meth)acrylate rubbery polymer (a); a graft copolymer (B) obtained by polymerizing a vinyl monomer mixture (m2) in the presence of a specific alkyl (meth)acrylate rubbery polymer (b); and a vinyl copolymer (C) obtained by polymerizing a vinyl monomer mixture (m3), wherein: a proportion of a rubbery polymer contained in the thermoplastic resin composition is 21 to 28% by mass, and a proportion of particles with a particle size of 300 nm or more among all particles formed by the rubbery polymer is 1 to 11% by mass.

A copolymer preparable by copolymerization of monomer components comprising: a) polydimethylsiloxane mono(meth)acrylate having a molecular weight of from 300 to 10000 grams/mole; b) optionally C.sub.3-C.sub.10 carboxylic acid-functional mono(meth)acrylate or a salt thereof; c) at least one C.sub.5-C.sub.16 hydroxyalkyl mono(meth)acrylate; and d) at least one of: i) C.sub.10-C.sub.30 linear alkyl mono(meth)acrylate optionally having one or two carbon atoms replaced by O or S; or ii) at least one (meth)acrylate represented by the formula wherein: R.sup.1 is H or a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl group; n is an integer from 0 to 18, inclusive; each X is O, S, C.sub.2-C.sub.6 oxyalkylenoxy, C.sub.2-C.sub.6 thioalkylenethio, or a covalent bond; and R.sup.2 is independently a C.sub.5-C.sub.50 hydrocarbyl group. The copolymer is useful as a water- and oil-repellent treatment on a substrate. Certain monomers corresponding to component ii) are also disclosed.

An eye-mountable device is provided that includes a plurality of rigid polymer layers separated by liquid crystal layers. Certain eye-mountable devices includes a first rigid polymer layer, a second rigid polymer layer, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second rigid polymer layers. The liquid crystal layer has a refractive index that is electrically controllable between an ordinary refractive index and an extraordinary refractive index, and the first rigid polymer layer and second rigid polymer layer include materials having a refractive index similar to the ordinary refractive index of the liquid crystal layer. The first rigid polymer layer and second rigid polymer layer may also include a combination of monomer-derived units that provide cast-moldable materials with high oxygen permeability. Methods for fabricating the eye-mountable device and for changing the focal length of the eye-mountable device are also provided.
