An one-part polyurethane composition, including: A) 15-75 wt.-% of at least one isocyanate-functional polyurethane polymer; B) 5-30 wt.-% of at least one organic thixotropy agent; C) 2-25 wt.-% of at least one plasticizer having viscosity of less than 500 mPa s, measured at 0° C. with cone-plate viscosimeter, shear rate 10 s.sup.−1, cone angle 1°, spindle 25-2, and cone tip-plate distance of 0.05 mm; D) 0-15 wt.-% of at least one solvent; E) 0-50 wt.-% of at least one filler; F) at least one catalyst for curing of polyurethane compositions; wherein isocyanate-functional polyurethane polymer has NCO content in range of 0.8%-2.5% by weight and is obtained from reaction of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and polyol in NCO/OH ratio of at least 3/1 and subsequent removal of non-reacted MDI; and polyol has viscosity, measured according to ASTM D4878-15 at 25° C., of less than 2000 mPa s; and isocyanate-functional polyurethane polymer has remaining content of MDI of at most 0.5% by weight.

The present invention relates to a crosslinkable composition comprising a polyol, a polyisocyanate crosslinker, a catalyst for catalysing the reaction between —OH groups of said polyol and —NCO groups of said crosslinker, a tertiary acid of formula RR′R″CCOOH (I), wherein each R, R′ and R″ group, independently, is an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl group containing at least one carbon atom, with the proviso that two or three of the R, R′ and R″ groups can be linked to form a ring structure and wherein the R, R′ and/or R″ groups can be substituted, and optionally, a complexing agent containing at least one —SH group, as well as its use for making coatings having improved application properties.

In-situ formed polyols, a process for their preparation, foams prepared from these in-situ formed polyols and a process for their preparation

This invention relates to an in-situ formed polyol blend having an overall functionality of 2 to 3 and an overall hydroxyl number of 50 to 150. A process for preparing these polyol blends is also disclosed. These in-situ formed polyol blends are suitable for preparing viscoelastic flexible polyurethane foams. A process for preparing these foams is also disclosed.

Flame-retardant adhesive and sealant with improved mechanical properties

A moisture-curable composition having flame retardant properties and to the use thereof as an adhesive, sealant or coating. The composition according to the invention contains at least one moisture-reactive polymer in a proportion of 10% to 50% by weight, at least one precipitated, surface-coated aluminum trihydrate in a proportion of 30% to 60% by weight and in preferred embodiments up to 25% by weight of at least one phosphorus-containing compound and up to 20% by weight of at least one carbon additive. The inventive moisture-curable composition has excellent flame retardant properties and after curing remains resistant for a long time at high heat levels.

Medical articles formed from a polyurethane-based resin including a modifying oligomer provide enhanced properties. A modifying oligomer incorporated into a backbone, as a side chain, or both of the polyurethane-based resin formed by a diisocyanate, a polyglycol, and a diol chain extender has at least one, preferably two, alcohol moieties (C—OH) and a functional moiety. Exemplary modifying oligomers are: a diol-containing perfluoropolyether incorporated into the backbone, a monofunctional polysiloxane (e.g., monodialcohol-terminated polydimethylsiloxane) incorporated as the side chain, and combinations thereof. Medical articles herein are self-lubricating and/or anti-fouling.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING ISOCYANURATES FROM URETDIONES

The invention relates to a process of preparing allophanate- and/or thioallophanate group-containing compounds comprising the following steps: reacting A) at least one component having at least one uretdione group with B) at least one component having at least one hydroxyl and/or thiol group, in the presence C) of at least one catalyst, containing a structural element of the general formulae (I) and/or (II), wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 independently of each other represent the same or different radicals meaning saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic organic radicals with 1 to 18 carbon atoms that are substituted or unsubstituted and/or have heteroatoms in the chain, the radicals being capable of forming, even when combined with each other and optionally together with an additional heteroatom, rings with 3 to 8 carbon atoms that can optionally be further substituted, wherein R3, R4, R5 and R6 independently of each other also can represent hydrogen, and R7 represents hydrogen or a carboxylate anion (COO—), the at least one component A) having at least one uretdione group being polyaddition compounds A2) that can be obtained by reacting isocyanate-functional uretdione groups A1) with alcohols and/or amines that have a free isocyanate group content of less than 5 wt. % in their solvent-free form.
