A copolymer composition that includes a silicone copolymer, methods of making the composition, and articles that include the composition, wherein the copolymer composition includes a silicone copolymer having a backbone composition that includes: silicone segments in an amount of 5 wt-% to 40 wt-%, based on the total weight of the silicone copolymer; hydrophilic segments in an amount of 40 wt-% to 75 wt-%, based on the total weight of the silicone copolymer; and reinforcing segments in an amount of 5 wt-% to 30 wt-%, based on the total weight of the silicone copolymer, wherein the reinforcing segments are derived from the reaction of one or more chain extenders with one or more multi-functional isocyanates, multi-functional carboxylic acids, multi-functional anhydrides, multi-functional esters, and/or multi-functional acid halides; wherein the silicone segments, hydrophilic segments, and reinforcing segments are connected through urea, urethane, amide, and/or oxamide linkages; wherein the hydrophilic segments and the reinforcing segments are present in a weight ratio of 1.8:1 to 8:1; and the hydrophilic segments and the silicone segments are present in a weight ratio of 1.3:1 to 4.5:1.

The admixtures can be used in industrial and medical applications where enhanced surface properties are desirable (e.g., surface properties reducing or preventing biofouling, immobilization of biomolecules, or denaturation of certain biomolecules).
POLYCARBONATE-POLYORGANOSILOXANE COPOLYMER
Provided is a polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer (A), including: a polycarbonate block (A-1) formed of a repeating unit having a specific structure; and a polyorganosiloxane block (A-2) containing a repeating unit having a specific structure, wherein the polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer satisfies the following requirements (1) to (3): (1) the content of the polyorganosiloxane block (A-2) in the polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer (A) is from more than 40 mass % to 70 mass % or less; (2) the polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer has a viscosity-average molecular weight of from 10,000 or more to 23,000 or less; and (3) the polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer includes a specific polycarbonate block as the polycarbonate block (A-1).
POLYCARBONATE RESIN COMPOSITION AND MOLDED ARTICLE THEREOF
Provided is a polycarbonate-based resin composition, including: 50 mass % or more to 99 mass % or less of a polycarbonate-based resin (S) containing 0.1 mass % or more to 100 mass % or less of a polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer (A), which contains a polycarbonate block (A-1) formed of a specific repeating unit and a polyorganosiloxane block (A-2) containing a specific repeating unit, and 0 mass % or more to 99.9 mass % or less of an aromatic polycarbonate-based resin (B) except the polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer (A); 1 mass % or more to 50 mass % or less of a polyester-based resin (C); and 0.001 part by mass or more to 1 part by mass or less of an amide compound (D) with respect to 100 parts by mass of a total amount of the polycarbonate-based resin (S) and the polyester-based resin (C).
MOLDED BODY CONTAINING POLYCARBONATE-POLYORGANOSILOXANE COPOLYMER
Provided is a molded body including a polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymer which contains a polycarbonate block (A-1) formed of a repeating unit having a specific structure and a polyorganosiloxane block (A-2) containing a repeating unit having a specific structure, and in which the content of the polyorganosiloxane block (A-2) is from 20 mass % or more to 70 mass % or less, wherein the molded body has a durometer hardness of from 25 or more to 72 or less measured with a type D durometer in conformity with JIS K 6253-3:2012.

Disclosed is a moisture curable silane modified terpolymer comprising a polyether segment, a segment of polytetrahydrofuran or polycarbonate, a polysiloxane segment and terminal amino silane groups joined to the terpolymer via urethane linkages and wherein the polyether segment comprises at least 70% by weight based on the total weight of the silane modified terpolymer. Also disclosed is a method of forming moisture curable silane modified terpolymer.

More specifically, the present invention relates to a polysiloxane having a specific structure having a side chain containing a randomly substituted hydroxyphenyl group, a polysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymer having the polysiloxane and a polycarbonate block as repeating units, exhibiting excellent flame retardancy and also excellent transparency, and a method for producing the same.
