MULTI-TRACK BEAM MODULAR ASSEMBLY SYSTEM
20170191514 · 2017-07-06 ·

Embodiments of a multi-track beam for use in modular assembly systems for office and industrial work stations. The embodiments have four corner tubes, bars, or channels arranged in a rectangular pattern in cross-section and connected in ways that provide improved ability to transmit torque along a long axis of the multi-track beam while providing improved resistance to bending under the forces of the torque. Fastening devices such a jam nuts may be inserted into the tracks to secure accessories to the multi-track beam or to other multi-track beams.

A universal mount platform for office and industrial modular workstations including embodiments a ring mount platform module and a linear dual-rail mount platform module. A single rail ring mount platform has a ring rail that is a metal tube, square in cross-section, shaped as a ring, with a plurality of fastener holes penetrating vertically through the rail. A dual rail ring mount platform has a first ring rail and a second ring rail, both metal tubes, square in cross-section, the first ring rail having an inside radius that is larger than an outside radius of the second ring rail. A linear dual-rail mount platform module has two double rail slot columns coupled by two sets of dual rails. Mount slots between dual rails are set and maintained by spacers or end plates.

The present system is directed to a modular apparatus that may be assembled and disassembled repeatedly without the use of tools. The modular system includes connectors that may be fixed to the underside of a plank and then engaged with leg portions. The connectors further include channels to accommodate retention members of additional attachments, such as covers, guards, signage, or racks that may be added onto the modular apparatus to increase its utility. The retention members mate with the connectors to connect and securely hold the attachment and can be removed from the connectors all without the need for tools.
