SYSTEM AND METHOD OF TRANSFORMABLE FURNITURE
A multifunctional furniture device that may simultaneously serve gaming, vocational, and lounging purposes is provided. The system generally comprises an external shell, positioning mechanism, platform, and seat. A user may alter the position of a top section and bottom section of the external shell to create different furniture types. The positioning mechanism of the device allows for the platform to be usably positioned in front of the seat when the external shell is placed in an open position. A computing device, input device, and display may be incorporated into the multifunctional furniture device to allow the user to perform vocational and entertainment activities when placed in an open position and may be hidden along with the positioning mechanism, platform, and seat within an internal cavity of the external shell when placed in a closed position.
Article of furniture having a latch mechanism
An article of furniture can include a latch mechanism. The latch mechanism can include an actuation mechanism having a housing that is moveable relative to a guide member from a first position to a second position, at least one detent mechanism comprising a first detent mechanism having a first detent member that is moveable from a first position to a second position, and an articulation mechanism positioned between the actuation mechanism and the first detent mechanism. The articulation mechanism can connect the first detent mechanism to the housing such that motion of the housing from the first position of the housing to the second position of the housing causes the first detent member to move from the first position of the first detent member to the second position of the first detent member.
A PEDESTAL APPARATUS
The invention discloses a pedestal apparatus for an article of furniture. The pedestal apparatus has an elongate post formation defining a first end and a second end and having a longitudinal axis. The post formation immovably supports a fixed foot arrangement and also movably supports a variable foot arrangement. The variable foot arrangement is selectively movable along and around the longitudinal axis for varying a longitudinal and angular proximity between the variable foot arrangement and the fixed foot arrangement. Biasing means are provided for controlling movement of the variable foot arrangement whereby, in use, the biasing means causes both the fixed foot arrangement and the variable foot arrangement to abut an underlying surface and thereby provide a substantial stabilization of the pedestal apparatus.
Automatically lockable pivoting mechanism and sliding mechanism, and frame and table having same
Disclosed are pivoting mechanisms, sliding mechanisms, frames and tables. A pivoting mechanism includes a first coupling piece, a second coupling piece and a rod. The first and second coupling pieces are pivotally coupled with each other. The rod is operated by gravity to automatically lock or unlock the first and second coupling pieces. A sliding mechanism generally includes a slider and a locking member. The slider includes a sleeve to be slidably coupled with a bar. The locking member includes a restriction piece, operated by an elastic piece to be disposed inside of the bar, to automatically lock the sleeve at a certain position of the bar.
PORTABLE WORKSTATION WITH INTEGRATED POWER SOURCE AND TILT-TOP CHASSIS
A portable workstation includes a base that includes a plurality of wheels for moving the portable workstation within an environment. A panel is adjustably mounted at the base and is adjustable relative to the base between (i) a use position, where the panel is in a generally horizontal orientation, and (ii) a non-use position, where the panel is in a generally vertical orientation. A battery pack is accommodated at the portable workstation. The battery pack is configured to electrically power an electronic device at the portable workstation.
COLLAPSIBLE TABLE
A collapsible table with four quarter sections. The first and second sides of each quarter section have a protrusion, a recess that receives the protrusion on an adjacent quarter section, and two apertures that allow a bungee cord to pass through them. The third and fourth sides of each quarter section are flat. The invention has four outer and four inner legs, the outer legs being stowable on the underside of the tabletop, and the inner legs being telescopically coupled with the outer legs. The outer and inner legs are constructed so that the overall height of the table can be adjusted depending on how the inner legs are inserted into the outer legs. The invention includes a key that fits into the underside of each quarter section to hold the tabletop together and two bungee cords that function as hinges between the quarter sections.
