GEL CONTAINING CONDENSATION PRODUCT OF REACTIVE SILICON COMPOUND
The present invention provides a gel containing a water-absorbing crosslinked polymer, and a condensate of a reactive silicon compound having at least one selected from the group consisting of an acidic dissociative group, an acidic dissociative group in a salt form, and a derivative group of an acidic dissociative group.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE MADE THEREFROM
A resin composition includes a core-shell rubber, a vinyl-containing benzoxazine resin and a maleimide resin, wherein the core-shell rubber has a core-shell ratio of 6.0:4.0 to 9.5:0.5. The resin composition may be used to make various articles, such as a prepreg, a resin film, a laminate or a printed circuit board, and achieves improvements in at least one, more or all of the properties including dissipation factor, copper foil peeling strength (3 μm copper foil), ten-layer board T300 thermal resistance, ten-layer board glass transition temperature, ten-layer board delamination temperature, inner resin flow, and resin filling property of open area.
HIGH IMPACT RESISTANT POLY(LACTIC ACID) BLENDS
The notched Izod impact toughness and tensile elongation of poly(lactic acid) (PLA)-homopolymers are increased by about 2 to about 4 times by blending therewith a PLA-copolymer having a difunctional flexible middle segment such as a polysiloxane or a polyether from about 0.6 wt. % to about 20 wt. %. The PLA-homopolymer-PLA-copolymer blend having a difunctional flexible polymer from about 0.5 wt. % to about 10 wt. % is thermally annealed to provide impact toughness of at least about 5 kJ/m.sup.2 and tensile elongation of greater than 12%. This exceptional improvement observed in the PLA blend is a synergistic effect of the addition of the difunctional flexible polymer of the copolymer and thermal annealing. The improvement observed in the mechanical properties with high PLA homopolymer content above about 90 to about 98 wt. % is unusual and results in an increased scope of molding and thermoforming applications. The annealed PLA-copolymers having a difunctional flexible middle segment have also been found to have improved notched Izod impact properties.

A silicone-containing polyester polyol can include a reaction product prepared from reactants including: a diol; a polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups; a dimer of a fatty acid having two carboxylic acid groups, or an anhydride or ester thereof; and a silicone component having siloxane linkages and at least two reactive functional groups selected from hydroxyl groups, amino groups, thiol groups, carboxylic acid groups, anhydride groups, or combinations thereof. A coating composition for preparing an anti-fingerprinting, soft touch coating can include the silicone-containing polyester polyol and a crosslinker reactive with the silicone-containing polyester polyol.

A silicone-containing polyester polyol can include a reaction product prepared from reactants including: a diol; a polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups; a dimer of a fatty acid having two carboxylic acid groups, or an anhydride or ester thereof; and a silicone component having siloxane linkages and at least two reactive functional groups selected from hydroxyl groups, amino groups, thiol groups, carboxylic acid groups, anhydride groups, or combinations thereof. A coating composition for preparing an anti-fingerprinting, soft touch coating can include the silicone-containing polyester polyol and a crosslinker reactive with the silicone-containing polyester polyol.
Composition comprising colorants
The invention relates to compositions containing dye, containing (A) at least one dye, (B) at least one organopolysiloxane containing units of the general formula R.sub.a(R.sup.1O).sub.bSiO.sub.[4−(a+b)]/2 (I), wherein the radicals and indexes have the meaning indicated in claim 1, provided that the total is a+b≤3 and in more than 80% of all units, the formula (I) is equal to 2, and (C) at least one siloxane-organo-copolymer. The invention further relates to a method for the production thereof and to the use thereof in the dyeing of polymer materials.

Provided herein is a carbinol-functional silicone resin. The carbinol-functional silicone resin is prepared by reacting a raw silicone resin having at least 1 mass% of silicon atom-bonded hydroxyl groups, silicon atom-bonded alkoxy groups, or a combination thereof, and a dihydroxy-functional compound, in the presence of a condensation catalyst and a solvent. The carbinol-functional silicone resin can produce a solid silicone-modified polyester without gelation of the silicone resin.
