Copolymers, as well as compounds, compositions, articles of manufacture, and methods of making thereof, are disclosed. The copolymers may generally exhibit flexibility properties and may generally have a high refractive index. The copolymers may generally be made by providing a dihydrodisiloxane and an aliphatic vinyl alcohol and combining the dihydrodisiloxane and the aliphatic vinyl alcohol under conditions that allow for hydrogenation of the aliphatic vinyl alcohol and result in coupling of the aliphatic vinyl alcohol to the dihydrodisiloxane to produce a hydroxyl substituted siloxane.

The copolymers may generally be made by providing a dihydrodisiloxane and an aliphatic vinyl alcohol and combining the dihydrodisiloxane and the aliphatic vinyl alcohol under conditions that allow for hydrogenation of the aliphatic vinyl alcohol and result in coupling of the aliphatic vinyl alcohol to the dihydrodisiloxane to produce a hydroxyl substituted siloxane.

Phase segregated block-copolymer based on repeating structural elements represented by formula I ##STR00001## wherein PHA represents at least one block based on one or more α-hydroxy acids, PDAS represents a central block based on a dialkylsiloxane, the PDAS block has a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 4000 to 10000, the blocks PHA have a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 2000 to 10 000, the phase segregated block copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of from 40 000 to 120 000.

Phase segregated block-copolymer based on repeating structural elements represented by formula I ##STR00001## wherein PHA represents at least one block based on one or more α-hydroxy acids, PDAS represents a central block based on a dialkylsiloxane, the PDAS block has a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 4000 to 10000, the blocks PHA have a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 2000 to 10 000, the phase segregated block copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of from 40 000 to 120 000.
SPRAY APPLIED INSULATIVE AND PROTECTIVE COATING
An inorganic and organic insulating polymer comprising a methyl phenyl silicone polyester with a thixotropic index from about 6 to about 9 that is effective to gel and cure very quickly so that the polyester can be applied, such as by spraying, to a pipe or other object to provide insulation and protection without sagging or deformation.
SILICONE-MODIFIED POLYESTER COATING
A silicone-modified polyester resin and methods for making the resin are described herein. The method includes production of a siliconized intermediate which is then esterified to give a silicone-modified polyester resin. Coating compositions including the silicone-modified polyester resin are provided, and coated articles with the coating composition applied to at least a portion of a surface thereof are also provided.

A silicone-modified polyester resin and methods for making the resin are described herein. The method includes production of a siliconized intermediate which is then esterified to give a silicone-modified polyester resin. Coating compositions including the silicone-modified polyester resin are provided, and coated articles with the coating composition applied to at least a portion of a surface thereof are also provided.
Polyorganosiloxane-containing graft copolymer, resin composition, and molded article
A graft copolymer capable of providing impact resistance, flame retardance, and color rendering properties to a thermoplastic resin is described. The graft copolymer contains a polyorganosiloxane, and is obtained by graft-polymerizing vinyl monomers including a (meth)acrylate ester (b.sub.1) having an alkyl group or an aromatic group and an aromatic vinyl monomer (b.sub.2) on a polyorganosiloxane-based rubber. The graft copolymer has a volume average particle diameter of 200-2000 nm, and contains 0.1-69 mass % of polyorganosiloxane. A thermoplastic resin composition is also described, containing a thermoplastic resin (A), the graft copolymer, a fluorine resin (C) and a flame retardant (D). A molded article is also described, which is obtained by molding the thermoplastic resin composition.

A molded article is also described, which is obtained by molding the thermoplastic resin composition.
