POLYETHER-POLYSILOXANE BLOCK COPOLYMER COMPOSITION, FOAM STABILIZER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYURETHANE FOAM
A manufacturing method for a polyether polysiloxane block copolymer composition that can avoid the use and incorporation of aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvents is provided. The manufacturing method is generally easy on an industrial production scale. The manufacturing method includes a step of obtaining a polyether polysiloxane block copolymer (A) by a specific reaction in the presence of a saturated hydrocarbon solvent (C) having an average number of carbon atoms in a range of 6 to 11, and a step of replacing the solvent (C) used in the reaction with (B) a (poly)glycol or a polyglycol derivative diluent, either during or after the aforementioned step. Also provided is a method of manufacturing a foam stabilizer or the like using the composition obtained by the aforementioned manufacturing method.

LOW ISOMER HYDROSILYLATION
A reaction composition contains (a) an allyl polyether having the following formula: CH.sub.2=CHCH.sub.2O-A.sub.a-B where, (i) subscript a is 2 to 170; (ii) A is selected from: —CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O—; —CH.sub.2CH(CH.sub.3)O—; —CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2O—, CH.sub.2CH(CH.sub.2CH.sub.3)O—; —CH(CH.sub.2CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2O, —CH.sub.2CF(CF.sub.3)O—, —CF(CF.sub.3)CF.sub.2O— and —CF.sub.2CF(CF.sub.3)O—; and (iii) B is selected from —H, —CH.sub.3, —CH.sub.2CH.sub.3, —CH.sub.2CH.sub.2CH.sub.3, —CH.sub.2CH.sub.2CH.sub.2CH.sub.3, —C(O)CH.sub.3, and —CF.sub.2CF.sub.2CF.sub.3; (b) A silyl hydride functional siloxanc comprising the following siloxane units [R.sub.2HSiO.sub.1/2].sub.m[R.sub.2SiO.sub.2/2].sub.d[R.sub.2SiO.sub.3/2].sub.t[SiO4/2].sub.q wherein d+t+q is one or more and wherein: (i) R is selected from hydrocarbyl groups liaing from one to 8 carbon atoms; (ii) subscript m is 2 or more; (iii) subscript d is zero to 20; (iv) subscript t is zero to 2; (v) subscript q is zero to 2; and (c) a platinum-based hydrosilylation catalyst; where there are at least 4 molar equivalents of silyl hydride functionalities relative to allyl functionalities in the reaction composition.
ABS-BASED RESIN COMPOSITION, METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME, AND MOLDED ARTICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
Disclosed is an ABS-based resin composition, a method of preparing the same, and a molded article including the same, including an ABS-based resin composition including 100 parts by weight of a base resin including 20 to 40% by weight of a vinyl cyanide compound-conjugated diene compound-aromatic vinyl compound graft copolymer and 60 to 80% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyanide compound copolymer; and 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a polyether-modified polysiloxane, a method of preparing the ABS-based resin composition, and a molded article including the ABS-based resin composition.
Process for producing polyoxyalkylene polysiloxane block polymers
SiOC-linked, linear polydimethylsiloxane-polyoxyalkylene block copolymers of formula (I) C—B-(AB).sub.a—C1 are produced by reaction of end-equilibrated α,ω-diacetoxypolydimethylsiloxanes with a mixture including at least one polyether polyol, preferably a polyether diol, and at least one polyether monool or at least one monohydric alcohol.
POLYMER AND COATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAID POLYMER
Provided is a polymer functioning as a leveling agent that imparts high smoothness to a coating film. Specifically, a polymer containing a polymer block (A1) of a polymerizable monomer (a1) having a functional group represented by —Si[OSi(R).sub.3].sub.n[R′].sub.3-n (n is an integer of 1 to 3, each R independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and each R′ independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms). Also provided are a coating composition, a resist composition, and an article containing the polymer.
POLYMER AND COATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAID POLYMER
Provided is a polymer functioning as a leveling agent that imparts high smoothness to a coating film. Specifically, a polymer containing a polymer block (A1) of a polymerizable monomer (a1) having a functional group represented by —Si[OSi(R).sub.3].sub.n[R′].sub.3-n (n is an integer of 1 to 3, each R independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and each R′ independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms). Also provided are a coating composition, a resist composition, and an article containing the polymer.
FLUORINE-CONTAINING CURABLE COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE
This fluorine-containing curable composition comprises a curable component (A) that provides a cured product under the effect of heat or moisture, and a surface-modifying component (B) that contains a perfluoropolyether compound (b1) having a prescribed structure. The perfluoropolyether compound (b1) in the surface-modifying component (B) is present at 0.005-50 mass parts per 100 mass parts of the curable component (A) excluding volatile components. The fluorine-containing curable composition can be cured by heat or moisture, can be coated on the surface of an article even not containing a fluorine-containing solvent, and can provide the cured product surface with excellent surface characteristics.
FLUORINE-CONTAINING CURABLE COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE
This fluorine-containing curable composition comprises a curable component (A) that provides a cured product under the effect of heat or moisture, and a surface-modifying component (B) that contains a perfluoropolyether compound (b1) having a prescribed structure. The perfluoropolyether compound (b1) in the surface-modifying component (B) is present at 0.005-50 mass parts per 100 mass parts of the curable component (A) excluding volatile components. The fluorine-containing curable composition can be cured by heat or moisture, can be coated on the surface of an article even not containing a fluorine-containing solvent, and can provide the cured product surface with excellent surface characteristics.
THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURE THEREOF, AND ARTICLE PREPARED THEREFROM
A thermoplastic composition includes 25 to 95 weight percent of a poly(etherimide); 5 to 70 weight percent of a polymer different from the poly(etherimide) that is partially miscible with the poly(etherimide); and 1 to 15 weight percent of a mineral filler having an average particle size of 0.1 to 10 micrometers; wherein each weight percent is based on the total weight of the composition. The thermoplastic composition can be prepared by melt-mixing the components of the composition. Articles including the composition are also described.
