SOFT HANDLE COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to a composition which can in particular be used as a soft handle composition in the finishing of textiles, comprising at least one quaternary ammonium silane, an organopolysiloxane compound having a dielectric constant of 2.90-10.0, optionally an emulsifier, water and optionally an organic solvent. The invention further relates to a method for preparing the composition according to the present invention, a use of the composition according to the present invention for finishing a textile, a method for finishing a textile, and a product that is obtained by the method according to the present invention.

The invention relates to a polymer comprising: a) at least one polyether polyester copolymer segment, wherein the polyether polyester copolymer comprises ether units selected from the group consisting of the formula (II) —[CR.sup.1.sub.2].sub.n—O—, wherein n is an integer of 2 to 4, R.sup.1 represent independent of each other organic groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms or hydrogen, and wherein in case n is equal to 2 at least one of the R.sup.1 represents an ether group having the formula —R.sup.2—O—R.sup.3, wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independent of each other represent organic groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and b) at least one polysiloxane segment linked to the at least one polyether polyester copolymer segment.

Polyether-modified siloxanes can be used as a dust binder for seed. Methods of reducing the evolution of dust from seed can be used with the polyether-modified siloxanes, and a treated seed is obtainable by these methods. Seed-dressing compositions or seed-dressing liquors contain the polyether-modified siloxanes.

A thermoplastic composition includes a polyarylene ether component, a flame retardant additive, an impact modifier, and a laser direct structuring additive. The laser platable thermoplastic composition is capable of being plated after being activated using a laser, exhibits a plating index of greater than 0.8 when tested using X-ray fluorescence, and exhibits a heat deflection temperature of greater than 150° C. at 0.45 MPa/3.2 mm when tested in accordance with ASTM D648. In further aspects, the thermoplastic composition may further comprise a laser direct structuring additive synergist comprising a polysiloxane, a polysilane, or a silane.
