Exemplary modifications include use of a cationic moiety and a halo moiety. Methods and uses of such structures and polymers are also described herein.
POLYARYLENE RESINS
Polyarylene polymers formed from an aromatic dialkyne monomer having a solubility enhancing moiety and having relatively high weight average molecular weights and a relatively low polydispersity show improved solubility in certain organic solvents and are useful in forming relatively thick dielectric material layers in a single coating step.
POLYARYLENE RESINS
Certain cyclopentadienone monomers having polar moieties are useful in forming polyarylene resins having improved solubility in certain organic solvents and are useful in forming polyarylene resin layers in electronics applications.
Norbornanyl rosin resin and process for preparing same
This invention relates to the new norbornanyl rosin resin compositions which are easily obtainable by reacting the norbornenyl compounds or their alpha, beta-unsaturated esters with rosin derivative. In particular, this invention relates to a new process for making hybrid rosin resin suitable for production adhesive, ink, coating, plasticizer, thermoplastic or thermosetting plastic and functional polymers.
Remendable interfaces for polymer composites
Functionalized polymer matrix and/or reinforcement materials that are capable of a thermoreversible Diels-Alder reaction are useful for making composite materials. Also disclosed is a composite material which includes one or both of functionalized reinforcement materials and functionalized polymer matrix materials, as well as a method for repairing a composite material including the step of thermally treating the composite material at a temperature sufficient to react a functionality on one of the reinforcement material and the polymer matrix material with another functionality via a Diels-Alder reaction. A method of making a composite material including functionalizing one or both of a reinforcing material and a polymer matrix material with a first reactive group, providing a second reactive group capable of undergoing a Diels-Alder reaction with the first reactive group and reacting the first and second reactive groups to form a composite material, is also described.
Polyarylene materials
Certain polyarylene oligomers having improved solubility are useful in forming dielectric material layers in electronics applications.
