Flexible poly-p-(phenyleneethynylene)s with controlled conjugation length and biodegradable conjugated polymers for target organelle specific labeling and drug delivery

A novel monomer design for the synthesis of PPE-type polymers containing conjugated segments of well-defined length connected by flexible linkers under Sonogashira reaction conditions is presented. The resulting polymers retain the photophysical properties of a fully conjugated PPE. The extent of incorporation of the flexible units along the backbone is governed by the comonomer feed ratio and can be varied in a statistically predictable fashion.

MICROELECTRONIC PACKAGE ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD) PROTECTION

Embodiments may relate to a microelectronic package comprising: a die and a package substrate coupled to the die with a first interconnect on a first face. The package substrate comprises: a second interconnect and a third interconnect on a second face opposite to the first face; a conductive signal path between the first interconnect and the second interconnect; a conductive ground path between the second interconnect and the third interconnect; and an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection material coupled to the conductive ground path. The ESD protection material comprises a first electrically-conductive carbon allotrope having a first functional group, a second electrically-conductive carbon allotrope having a second functional group, and an electrically-conductive polymer chemically bonded to the first functional group and the second functional group permitting an electrical signal to pass between the first and second electrically-conductive carbon allotropes.

Fluorescent methods and materials for directed biomarker signal amplification

Methods and compositions are provided that include a multichromophore and/or multichromophore complex for identifying a target biomolecule. A sensor biomolecule, for example, an antibody can be covalently linked to the multichromophore. Additionally, a signaling chromophore can be covalently linked to the multichromophore. The arrangement is such that the signaling chromophore is capable of receiving energy from the multichromophore upon excitation of the multichromophore. Since the sensor biomolecule is capable of interacting with the target biomolecule, the multichromophore and/or multichromophore complex can provide enhanced detection signals for a target biomolecule.

Photoactive macromolecules and uses thereof

The present invention provides water soluble photoactive macromolecular complexes and methods for detecting an analyte in a sample by using a binding agent conjugated to a water soluble photoactive macromolecule.

The disclosed semiconductor materials (e.g., semiconducting polymer compounds) can be used as high performance semiconductors (e.g., for organic solar cells or organic photovoltaics (OPVs)), and the disclosed semiconductor materials can be used for other devices (e.g., organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) and sensors, etc.).

Fluorescent particles

Water-soluble, fluorescent particles and compositions, kits, and methods of making and using such particles are disclosed. Processes for preparing fluorescent particles and for controlling the size, polydispersity and optical properties of such particles also are provided.

CONDUCTIVE POLYMERIC COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE CONDUCTIVE POLYMERIC COMPOSITION

The invention provides a composition for a conductive polymeric material suitable for the production of electrodes for recording electrophysiological signals, such as electrocardiogram (EGG), electromyogram (EMG), electroencephalogram (EEG), etc and signals related to the impedance variation of the body or skin, both deriving from active and passive measures (for example, breathing, electrodermal response, etc.). For this purpose a formulation containing FEDOT and ionic liquids has been developed. The formulation according to the invention can be used generically in the context of detecting bioelectric signals and can be applied on wearable items, in particular in fabric, such as for example garments of different shapes, so as to be in direct contact with the areas of the body subject to detection. The artifacts include diving artefacts, such as watertight suits, and for water sports and submarine surveys, artifacts used in the medical and health sector such as plasters, elastic support bands and adhesive support bands and textile articles, including special fabrics such as bioceramics.
