PROCESS FOR PREPARING SPHERICAL POLYMERIC PARTICLES FOR COSMETIC APPLICATION
A process for preparing spherical polymeric particles of polymers containing at least two fillers, dispersed in the polymer matrix wherein up to 50% of the weight of the particles is composed by fillers. The process comprises a melt-blending of a polymeric matrix containing the at least two fillers with a continuous phase that is not miscible with the polymeric matrix and an agent to form an emulsion. This emulsion is then extruded, cooled and a solvent of the continuous phase is added to recover the spherical particles. The fillers can provide different properties to the spherical particles which can be used, for example, for cosmetic applications, specifically for preventing and/or reducing the signs of skin ageing.
EMULSION COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Provided are an emulsion composition which can be produced more easily than a conventional method and has excellent emulsion stability, and a method for producing the same. The emulsion composition contains a liquid conjugated diene rubber, a diluent having a vapor pressure at 20° C. of 10 Pa or less, a surfactant, and water.
Silicone elastomers and their preparation and use
The present invention relates to an elastomeric composition comprising a silicone rubber, glycerol, at least one crosslinking agent, and optionally one or more excipients, wherein said glycerol is present as discrete droplets in the silicone rubber, obtainable through the application of high shear forces.
Method to disperse nano-cellulose in organic polymer precursors
This invention concerns a novel method to produce thermosets such as epoxies and polyurethanes comprising nano-cellulose. The method comprises contacting primarily water-bourne dispersed nano-cellulose with liquid thermoset precursors, specifically epoxy or amine in the case of epoxies, or glycols or similar in the case of polyurethanes. Nano-cellulose transfers to the organic phase, and water is removed at temperatures below 100° C. Thereafter the organic phase comprising nano-cellulose can be mixed with the reactive counterpart to yield nano-composites with improved properties. The products can be used for composite articles, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and other end-uses. Preferred embodiments are described in detail.

Emulsion of nitrogen atom-containing polymer or salt thereof, production method therefor, and production method for particles
An emulsion of a nitrogen atom-containing polymer or salt thereof and a method for producing it are provided. The emulsion has high stability and low dispersity of the particle diameter of emulsified particles. A method for producing particles including a crosslinked nitrogen atom-containing polymer or sat thereof using the emulsion is also provided. The method for producing the emulsion includes a step of mixing a first solution that includes a nitrogen atom-containing polymer or salt thereof and a hydrophilic solvent and has a viscosity of 10 to 2,000 mPa.Math.s, and a second solution that includes a hydrophobic solvent and has a viscosity of 1 to 100 mPa.Math.s, stirring the mixture, and thus obtaining an emulsion of the nitrogen atom-containing polymer or salt thereof, wherein a ratio between the viscosity of the first and second solutions is in a range of 0.1:1 to 300:1.
Method for Preparing Granular Polycarbonate
A method for preparing granular polycarbonate particles is disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a method for preparing granulated polycarbonate particles includes mixing a polymerization reaction solution comprising polycarbonate and an organic solvent, and an anti-solvent solution comprising water and an anti-solvent to prepare a mixed solution, heating the mixed solution to remove the organic solvent, and drying or filtering the mixed solution to obtain granular polycarbonate particles. The granular polycarbonate particles having excellent physical properties without using a stabilizer or a surfactant can be obtain.
