Production method for silica-coated spherical silicone elastomer particles and silica-coated spherical silicone elastomer particles
A method for producing silica-coated spherical silicone elastomer particles which includes a step in which a tetraalkoxysilane (E) is added to a liquid comprising spherical silicone elastomer particles (A), an alkaline substance (B), one or more ingredients (C) selected from among cationic surfactants and cationic water-soluble polymers, and water (D), and the tetraalkoxysilane is hydrolyzed and condensed to thereby coat the surfaces of the spherical silicone elastomer particles with silica.
Rubber pellet treatment
Rubber pellets are coated with an anti-tack material. The anti-tack material may be comprised of a metallic stearate, such as magnesium stearate. The coated rubber pellets are loaded on to a rotational conveyance mechanism that rotates at a speed and radial amount to provide an interaction time between the rubber pellets and the anti-tack material. The coated rubber pellets may then be dried in a centrifuge dryer having a plurality of angled fins extending from a rotational shaft.
POLYMER COMPOSITIONS WITH ANTIMICROBIAL AND WAVELENGTH-SHIFTING NANOPARTICLES
Disclosed are embodiments of polymer compositions and systems that contain antimicrobial and wavelength-shifting metal nanoparticles. The polymer compositions containing metal nanoparticles protect exposed materials from UV radiation. The polymer compositions containing metal nanoparticles down convert incoming UV light to light that may have a longer wavelength. Unexpectedly, by selecting at least two differently configured nanoparticle components (e.g., different in size, shape, or both), each with specific particle size distribution, it is possible to effectively protect an area from damage resulting from exposure to UV radiation. In addition, spherical silver nanoparticles do not cause bacteria to become resistant as do convention silver nanoparticles made by chemical synthesis.
Multifunctional Smart Particles
The present invention provides multifunctional particulates that release one or more functional compounds in response to environmental triggers and whose external surface modification imparts secondary functionalities to a selected coating composition. For example, disclosed are hydrophobic particles having a smart release mechanism for anticorrosion compounds that release the anticorrosion compounds upon exposure to the local pH changes induced by corrosion processes. Formulations are disclosed for multifunctional smart particles having antimicrobial effects and protections as well.
FINELY DIVIDED AQUEOUS PARTICLE-STABILIZED PICKERING EMULSION AND PARTICLES PRODUCED THEREFROM
An aqueous, particle-stabilized Pickering emulsion along with methods or processes for producing the same and particles produced therefrom.
POWDER PARTICULATES COMPRISING A WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF BY MELT EMULSIFICATION
Powder particulates comprising a water-soluble polymer may be formed by melt emulsification. Compositions comprising powder particulates may comprise a plurality of particulates comprising a water-soluble polymer and a plurality of nanoparticles, the water-soluble polymer defining at least an outer surface of the particulates and at least a majority of the plurality of nanoparticles being disposed upon the outer surface.
Free-flowing mixture, its use, and method for its production
Disclosed are free-flowing mixtures comprising a granular material comprising a thermoplastic elastomer, a functionalized thermoplastic elastomer, at least one phase change material bound to the thermoplastic elastomers, and at least one binding agent capable of adsorbing and/or absorbing portions of the phase change material. The binding agent is substantially present between the granulate materials, and either: i) the proportion by weight of the phase change material in the granular material is 60% to 90% and the binding agent is a non-silicate binding agent, or ii) the proportion by weight of the phase change material in the granular material is more than 70% and up to 90%. Also described are various compositions comprising the mixture and methods for producing the mixture.
RESIN PARTICLES, ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE PARTICLES, ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL, AND CONNECTION STRUCTURE
The present invention aims to provide resin particles that have excellent heat resistance and that, when used as base particles of conductive particles, are applicable to mounting by thermocompression bonding at low pressure to produce a connection structure having excellent connection reliability. The present invention also aims to provide conductive particles, a conductive material, and a connection structure each including the resin particles. Provided are resin particles having a 5% weight loss temperature of 350° C. or higher, a 10% K value at 25° C. of 100 N/mm.sup.2 or more and 2,500 N/mm.sup.2 or less, and a 30% K value at 25° C. of 100 N/mm.sup.2 or more and 1,500 N/mm.sup.2 or less.
METHOD OF PREPARING FUNCTIONALIZED PARTICLES
Particles are prepared in an emulsion using a method that includes providing a first reactant having at least two unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties and a second reactant having at least two Si—H moieties, so long as at least one of the unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties of the first reactant or the Si—H moieties of the second reactant is pendant. The method also includes providing a third reactant having a silicon atom and a condensable reactive group bonded to the silicon atom and also having an unsaturated carbon-carbon moiety and/or a Si—H moiety, providing a hydrosilylation catalyst, and providing a polar liquid. The method further includes combining the first, second, and third reactants to form particles that have a cross-linked network wherein the condensable reactive group is disposed on the particles, and adding a silane having an organic moiety and a condensation leaving group to form the particles.
Ion conductive organic-inorganic composite particles, particle-containing resin composition and ion conductive molded article
Ion conductive organic-inorganic composite particles are particles that have an organic group on the surface of inorganic particles and have at least a configuration that does not allow the inorganic particles to contact with each other by steric hindrance of the organic group, the organic group containing an ion conductive group.
