PROCESS FOR REGENERATING A MONOLITHIC, MACRO-STRUCTURAL, INTER-PENETRATING ELASTOMER NETWORK MORPHOLOGY FROM GROUND TIRE RUBBER PARTICLES
20220186002 · 2022-06-16 ·

Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.

A joint member having a thermoplastic elastomer composition including components (A), (B), and (C). Component (A): a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer including at least two polymer blocks composed primarily of a vinyl aromatic compound and at least one polymer block including butadiene, wherein, in the hydrogenated product of the block copolymer, a proportion of a hydrogenated product (A1) of a block copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 300,000 or more is 30% to 100% by mass, Component (B): a hydrocarbon rubber softener, Component (C): a polypropylene resin, Component (D): a crosslinking agent.

MIXTURES OF SYNTHETIC COPOLYPEPTIDE HYDROGELS
20220177704 · 2022-06-09 ·

The present disclosure is directed to physical mixtures of diblock copolypeptide hydrogel (DCH) systems. These systems exhibit mechanical strength and stiffness that are synergistically increased over the individual component DCHs, to greater than would be expected for a linear combination of the components. Such systems may have utility in biomedical applications such as drug delivery.

This application relates to a thermo-gel polymer system useful for ophthalmic drug delivery. The thermo-gel comprises a polymer and chitosan, and the polymer comprises monomers of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm), acrylic acid (AA) and at least one hydrophobic monomer.

SEMI-CRYSTALLINE SILYL ETHER BASED VITRIMERS, METHODS OF MAKING AND USES THEREOF

Semi-crystalline vitrimers that include a silyl ether functionality are described. Methods of making and uses thereof are also described.

ARTICLES COMPOSED OF ANHYDROUS POLYELECTROLYTE COMPLEXES AND THEIR USE AS DRYING AGENTS
20220168707 · 2022-06-02 ·

Described herein are articles comprising an anhydrous polyelectrolyte complex comprising an interpenetrating network of at least one positively charged polyelectrolyte polymer and at least one negatively charged polyelectrolyte polymer. The articles described herein are effective drying agents with respect to removing water from solvents and gasses. Also described herein are methods for making and using the articles described herein.

Cellulosic articles made from cellulosic materials and methods therefor

The invention relates to systems and techniques for manufacturing articles containing cellulosic material, a coupling agent, and a binder resin, and related processes of making and using the cellulosic articles. In particularly exemplary embodiments, the manufactured articles are door skins, sometimes known as door facings, and doors made from the door skins. The article contains a lipophilic cellulosic material, a coupling agent, and a binder. The coupling agent is believed to increase the hydrophilicity (wetability) of the lipophilic cellulosic material.
