20230032108 · 2023-02-02 ·

Porous, binderless ceramic surface modification materials are described, and applications of use thereof. The ceramic surface material is in the form of an interconnected network of porous ceramic material on a substrate. The ceramic material may include a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide, and/or hydrates thereof, or a metal carbonate or metal phosphate, on a substrate surface. The substrate may be in the form of a metal or polymer particulate, powder, extrudate, or flakes.

Use of compounds having n 2-oxo-1,3-dioxolane-4-carboxamide units in two-component adhesives

A description is given of the use of compounds having n 2-oxo-1,3-dioxolane-4-carboxamide units as a reactive component in 2-component adhesives, especially for preparing hydroxypolyurethanes or hydroxypolycarbonates for adhesives applications, where n is a number greater than or equal to 2. A description is also given of corresponding two-component adhesives and adhesive bonding methods. Employed preferably as a second component of the two-component adhesive is a polyfunctional curing agent compound which is preferably selected from polyamines which have two or more amine groups and polyols which have two or more alcoholic hydroxyl groups.

Polymer blends for use in multilayer structure and multilayer structures comprising the same

The present invention provides polymer blends that can be used in a multilayer structure and to multilayer structures comprising one or more layers formed from such blends. In one aspect, a polymer blend comprises (a) a copolymer comprising ethylene and at least one of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid having an acid content of 2 to 21 weight percent based on the weight of the copolymer, wherein the amount of copolymer (a) comprises 20-80 weight percent of the blend based on the total weight of the blend, and (b) a copolymer comprising ethylene and at least one of methyl acrylate and ethyl acrylate having an acrylate content of 5 to 30 weight percent based on the weight of the copolymer, wherein the amount of copolymer (b) comprises 10 to 50 weight percent of the blend based on the total weight of the blend, wherein the amount of copolymer (a) and copolymer (b) is at least 70 weight percent of the blend based on the total weight of the blend.

Wafer processing method including uniting wafer, ring frame, and polyolefin sheet without using an adhesive layer

A wafer processing method includes a polyolefin sheet providing step of positioning a wafer in an inside opening of a ring frame and providing a polyolefin sheet on a back side or a front side of the wafer and on a back side of the ring frame, a uniting step of heating the polyolefin sheet as applying a pressure to the polyolefin sheet to thereby unite the wafer and the ring frame through the polyolefin sheet by thermocompression bonding, a dividing step of applying a laser beam to the wafer to form shield tunnels in the wafer, thereby dividing the wafer into individual device chips, and a pickup step of heating the polyolefin sheet, pushing up each device chip through the polyolefin sheet, and picking up each device chip from the polyolefin sheet.

Water-soluble unit dose articles made from a combination of different films

The present disclosure relates to pouches made from a combination of chemically different water-soluble films and optionally containing a composition (e.g. a household care composition or non-household care composition) that is at least partially enclosed by the water-soluble films in at least one compartment.

Polyester polymer compositions are described containing a blend of coloring agents and optionally reinforcing fibers. The polyester polymer, for instance, can be polybutylene terephthalate. The polymer composition is particularly formulated in order to be substantially transparent at specific wavelengths of light. Consequently, the polyester polymer composition is well suited for use in laser transmission welding in which a laser beam passes through the polymer composition and forms a weld on an adjoining surface.

A method is provided for adhering prescribed adherend rubbers to one another using a rubber for adhesion obtained from a rubber composition for adhesion containing an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (X2) and an organic peroxide (Y2) at the adhesion interface between the adherend rubbers. The ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (X2) contained in the rubber composition for adhesion contains an ethylene-1-butene copolymer. The ethylene-1-butene copolymer satisfies prescribed values of the number average molecular weight and the molecular weight distribution. The content of the ethylene-1-butene copolymer is from 60 to 100 mass % of the total mass of the ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (X2).
