METHODS OF MAKING ROOF LAMINATES WITH REMOVABLE PROTECTIVE SHEETS AND ROOF LAMINATES
A roof laminate (10) includes a roof membrane (12, 100, 200, 300) and a protective sheet (14, 114, 214, 314) removably affixed thereto. The surface (20) of the roof membrane (12, 100, 200, 300) can be protected from dirt, scratches and scrapes by a protective sheet (14, 114, 214, 314) which also provides other beneficial attributes that aid an installer. The membrane (12, 100, 200) and the sheet (14, 114, 214) are heat laminated together in the absence of adhesive and tackifiers. Alternatively, the membrane (12, 300) and the sheet (14, 314) are surface treated and then brought into contact with one another in the absence of adhesive and tackifiers. The sheet (14, 114, 214, 314)) may be single layer or include at least a first layer (30) directly secured to a second layer (32). The first layer (30) provides at least one of UV protection, anti-slip, and anti-glare to the roof laminate (10) and so aids the installer in at least one of those respects. The second layer (32) is removably affixed to the roof membrane (12, 100, 200, 300).
METAL-CARBON FIBER REINFORCED RESIN MATERIAL COMPOSITE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL-CARBON FIBER REINFORCED RESIN MATERIAL COMPOSITE
What is provided is a new and improved metal-carbon fiber reinforced resin material composite in which the galvanic corrosion of dissimilar materials of a metal member is suppressed and electrodeposition coatability is excellent and a method for manufacturing the metal-carbon fiber reinforced resin material composite. A metal-carbon fiber reinforced resin material composite according to the present invention has a metal member, a resin coating layer disposed on at least a part of a surface of the metal member, and a carbon fiber reinforced resin material containing a matrix resin and a carbon fiber material present in the matrix resin, the resin coating layer contains any one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of metal particles, intermetallic compound particles, conductive oxide particles, and conductive non-oxide ceramic particles as conductive particles and further contains a binder resin, and the conductive particles have a powder resistivity at 23° C. to 27° C. of 7.0×10.sup.7 Ω.Math.cm or less and contain one or more selected from the group consisting of Zn, Si, Zr, V, Cr, Mo, Mn, and W.
LIQUID CRYSTAL ELASTOMERS
Shape-programmable liquid crystal elastomers. The shape-programmable liquid crystal elastomers being synthesized by filling an alignment cell with liquid crystal monomers. The liquid crystal monomers align to a surface of the alignment cell and then are polymerized with a dithiol chain transfer agent. The alignment cell is configured to impose a director orientation on a portion of the shape-programmable liquid crystal elastomer. For some embodiments, liquid crystal elastomer laminates are prepared by arranging a plurality of liquid crystal elastomers such that a director orientation of each liquid crystal elastomer of the plurality is in registered alignment with an adjacent liquid crystal elastomer of the plurality. The arrangement is secured and the plurality of liquid crystal elastomers cured.
DOSAGE PROJECTILE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
The present disclosure is directed to a polycell for forming a dosage projectile suitable for administering a biologically active agent to an animal remotely, the polycell comprising a first component having a semispherical shell formed from a polymer and a structural agent; a second component having a semispherical shell formed from a polymer and a structural agent; and a filling port in the first component or the second component; wherein the first and second components when joined form a polycell having a substantially spherical hollow body adapted to receive an agent to treat an animal. The present disclosure is also directed to a dosage projectile comprising an agent to treat an animal sealed in a polycell.
Fire-Retardant Composite Materials
A prepreg including an epoxide resin matrix system and fibrous reinforcement, at least partially impregnated by the epoxide resin matrix system, the epoxide resin matrix system having the components: a. a mixture of (i) at least one epoxide-containing resin and (ii) at least one catalyst for curing the at least one epoxide-containing resin; and b. a plurality of solid fillers for providing fire retardant properties to the fibre-reinforced composite material formed after catalytic curing of the at least one epoxide-containing resin, and wherein the fibrous reinforcement is a woven fabric ply of an interwoven mixture of glass fibres and carbon fibres, the woven fabric ply has a weight of from 350 to 550 g/m.sup.2 and is from 40 to 95 wt % glass fibres and from 5 to 60 wt % carbon fibres, each based on the weight of the woven fabric ply, and the proportion by weight of carbon fibres, expressed as C in wt %, in the woven fabric ply is defined by the formula:
and the proportion by weight of glass fibres, expressed as G wt %, in the woven fabric ply is defined by the formula: G=(100−C) %.
SHEET STRUCTURE
A sheet structure includes a plurality of first recycled granule portions and a plurality of second recycled granule portions. Each of the first recycled granule portions includes a first surface layer. Each of the second recycled granule portions includes a second surface layer. The first surface layer of one of the first recycled granule portions is fusingly connected to the first surface layer of another one of the first recycled granule portions and/or the second surface layer of one of the second recycled granule portions. The second surface layer of one of the second recycled granule portions is fusingly connected to the second surface layer of another one of the second recycled granule portions and/or the first surface layer of one of the first recycled granule portions.
