AQUEOUS LATEX OF VINYLIDENE CHLORIDE COPOLYMER
Aqueous latex of vinylidene chloride copolymer An aqueous latex [latex (L)] of a vinylidene chloride copolymer [copolymer (A)], wherein the copolymer (A) consists essentially of recurring units derived from vinylidene chloride (VDC) in an amount comprised between 89.0 and 91.0 wt % of the copolymer, recurring units derived from methacrylonitrile (MAN) in an amount comprised between 2.00 and 5.50 wt % of the copolymer, recurring units derived from at least one ionic comonomer (ICO) in an amount comprised between 0.5 and 1.4 wt % of the copolymer (A), and recurring units derived from methylmethacrylate (MMA) in an amount such that the total of recurring units of VDC, MAN, ICO and MMA is 100 wt %, and wherein the latex (L) comprises at least one surfactant [surfactant (S)] in an amount comprised between 0.09 and 1.50 wt % of the copolymer (A).
Process for the manufacture of the aqueous latex (L), film made therefrom and retort pouch prepared with such film.
Plastic substrate adhesion promoter with random copolymer
Disclosed is a resinous adhesion promoter comprising (a) a random copolymer having first and second constitutional monomeric units, the first units comprising halogen and/or a pendant organic group having six or more carbon atoms and the second monomeric units comprising an active hydrogen-containing functional group; and (b) one of either (i) a non-reactive adhesion promoter or (ii) a reaction mixture comprising a first component and a second component, at least one of the first and second components having functional groups being reactive with the active hydrogen-containing functional groups of the random copolymer.
DECORATIVE SHEET AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DECORATIVE SHEET
There is provided a decorative sheet having excellent design properties, i.e., low gloss, and having fingerprint resistance, high durability (particularly scratch resistance or contamination resistance), and processability. A decorative sheet (1) according to this embodiment includes: a base material layer (2); and a surface protective layer (5) provided on one surface of the base material layer (2), in which the surface protective layer (5) has ridge-like parts provided to project in a ridge-like shape and form an irregular shape on the surface, RSm/Ra of the irregular shape of the surface protective layer (5) is within the range of 10 or more and 300 or less, the surface protective layer (5) contains an ionizing radiation curable resin as a main material, the ionizing radiation curable resin contains, as a main component, a trifunctional acrylic resin containing a repeating structure, the repeating structure is any one of the structures of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, and ε-caprolactone, and the number of repetitions of the repeating structure is 3 or more.
Cartilage mimetic gels
A cartilage mimetic gel includes double network hydrogels. The double network hydrogels comprise a first crosslinked network and a second crosslinked network. The first crosslinked network can be formed from poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid). The second crosslinked network can be formed from poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide-co-acrylamide).
Composite component
The invention relates to a composite component that has improved bonding properties and includes a substrate (i) made of a thermoplastic polymer blend composition, and a coating (ii); in a layer located 5 to 10 μm below the boundary surface between the substrate (i) and the coating (ii), the substrate (i) has a dispersed, non-lamellar phase structure. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the composite component.
