Foamable silicone compositions, containing (A) at least one organopolysiloxane containing at least two alkenyl groups bonded to silicon per molecule, (B) at least one organopolysiloxane containing at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon per molecule, (C) at least one porogenic agent generating gaseous hydrogen in the presence of component (B), and (D) at least one hydrosilylation catalyst. Foams obtained by curing such foamable silicone compositions have excellent resilience, moderate hardness, good mechanical properties, and flame retardancy, suitable for the sealing of battery pack cases.

A rubber foam composition containing a sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber and a chemical foaming agent, in which the sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber has a functional group A represented by specific General Formula (A) and positioned at a molecular terminal, in the sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber, a mass ratio B/A of a content of a functional group B represented by specific General Formula (B) and positioned at a molecular terminal with respect to a content of the functional group A is 12.00 or less, a total amount of the functional group A and the functional group B is 0.10 to 1.00% by mass, and a content of the chemical foaming agent is 3 to 16 parts by mass with respect to a total of 100 parts by mass of the sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber, a thiazole compound, and a dithiocarbamic acid-based compound.

Expandable polymer particles

The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of first polymer particles functionalized with structural units of t-butyl methacrylate or t-butyl acrylate, and imbibed with a catalyst of Structure (I), where R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are as defined herein, and a process for making the composition. The present invention also relates to an aqueous dispersion of core-shell polymer particles, wherein the first polymer particles are encapsulated in a shell having a high T.sub.g. The imbibed first polymer particles and the core-shell polymer particles can be expanded in the dry state at significantly lower temperatures than reported in the prior art. ##STR00001##

MELAMINE-FORMALDEHYDE FOAMS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A melamine-formaldehyde foam manufactured by including a melamine-formaldehyde condensate that has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) in a range of 1000 to 10,000 g/mol, a solid content in a range of 60 to 80 percent by weight (wt %), and a viscosity in a range of 1000 to 10,000, and a method of manufacturing the melamine-formaldehyde foam. The melamine-formaldehyde foam can have a uniform cell structure, while exhibiting excellent mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation.

PHENOLIC FOAM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF

A thermal insulating phenolic foam and method of manufacture thereof is provided. A phenolic foam is formed by foaming and curing a phenolic resin composition that comprises a phenolic resin, an acid catalyst, a blowing agent comprising a hydrocarbon having 6 carbon atoms or less, and an alkoxy alcohol. The resulting foam has low thermal conductivity and has excellent long term thermal stability.

A COMPOSITION WITH REDUCED ALDEHYDE EMISSION

This invention generally provides composition for making a polyurethane foam with reduced aldehyde emission and more specially to composition useful in means of transport such as interior part of cars, wherein composition is comprising: (a) a polyfunctional isocyanate; (b) an isocyanate reactive composition; and (c) a compound of the formula (I) or (II), wherein the compound (c) is present by weight percentage in the composition in an amount ranging from about 0.001 to about 10, preferably from about 0.01 to about 5, and more preferably from about 0.05 to about 2 based on the total weight of the composition. The compositions can reduce aldehyde emission, especially acetaldehyde emission in the PU foam and has no obvious influence on the mechanic properties of the foam.

A foamable composition includes a blowing agent, a foamable polymer or a precursor composition thereof, and a nucleating agent. The nucleating agent includes a compound having structural formula (I) R.sup.1SO.sub.2R.sup.2(SO.sub.2R.sup.3).sub.n (I) where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 are each independently a fluoroalkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms that is linear, branched, or cyclic and optionally contain at least one catenated ether oxygen atom or a trivalent nitrogen atom, and n is 0 or 1.
